Anthony Breznican of Entertainment Weekly has given his thoughts on the new Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. “If you loved Man of Steel, you’ll love BvS,” he said, while saying that if you didn’t like the ending of Man of Steel, “BvS may redeem that.” And if you weren’t fond of Man of Steel’s dark tone? “Probably not for you.” Finally, he added that Wonder Woman will be “fearsome” and that Batman and Superman will have “a moment” that will “make even the most cynical tear-up a little.” It sounds like Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be an improvement over Man…

The Hollywood Reporter interviewed Frank Miller recently, and managed to ask him about a cancelled project with Darren Aronofsky. Miller revealed that the project was too dark for Warner Brothers at the time and had this to say about it: “It was the first time I worked on a Batman project with somebody whose vision of Batman was darker than mine. My Batman was too nice for him. We would argue about it, and I’d say, “Batman wouldn’t do that, he wouldn’t torture anybody,” and so on. We hashed out a screenplay, and we were wonderfully compensated, but then Warner Bros.…

Taylor has been announced to be the new Pinhead, taking the role over from Doug Bradley who refused to star. Gary Tunnicliffe called Taylor “a classically trained stage and film actor who brings a great physical presence and more than a hint of Peter Cushing and Ralph Fiennes.” Here he is: The film will also feature three detectives played by actors Damon Carney, Randy Wayne, and Alexandra Harris.…

April 11, 2016 is the starting date for production on Justice League: Part 1. Due to several casting and production notices, the working title was revealed to be “Caveman”. This is significant in that there’s a DC villain named Vandal Savage who was an immortal and has lived since the dawn of man, where he was a caveman granted strange powers by a fallen meteorite. It’s likely that the title Caveman is a reference to Savage, and we will see him in the upcoming film. Another interesting bit that was revealed is that one of the producers for the…

In an interview between “Gods of Egypt” director Alex Proyas and Collider, the filmmaker stated his desire for Hollywood to leave the comic book property and his film of the same name “The Crow” alone in honor of Brandon Lee who died during production. “You know, I’ve moved on and I just feel like it’s… I personally feel like it’s kind of unnecessary. I’ve said this many times, I’ve completed the original movie to honor Brandon Lee and that’s the sole reason I did it. I’m happy I did it for that reason. I sort of feel like it’s his legacy…

Ryan Reynolds originally wanted Wolverine to play a part in the new Deadpool movie, and he also wanted Taskmaster to feature as a villain. When Reynolds was speaking with Empire for the Deadpool Spoiler Special Podcast, he explained that there were “endless” debates with 20th Century Fox executives about which X-Men characters they could and were going to use. “Taskmaster was in the script originally. Too expensive. We had versions where Hugh Jackman was in there, but it just becomes a big mess for the studio – schedules, money, everything,” Reynolds had said. He continued by saying they went through…

Todd McFarlane, the man who created the Spawn character and comic book series, has just announced that he’s finished the script for a new Spawn film. He says he’s going to trim it down before he sends it around Hollywood and that he’s at “183 pages” and hopes to cut it down to about “140”. It seems this is because he wants to direct the new movie and that the smaller story will benefit both in catching people’s attention and help keep the budget low. “I want to keep it small, keep it tight, so they’ll let me direct it!”…
