During Comic-Con, Marvel managed to screen a short mockumentary revealing what Thor was doing during the events of Captain America: Civil War. Although the footage still isn’t online, there was a photo released Monday with Thor playing Connect Four; and today there’s a new photo with Thor researching Thanos. Director David Ayer revealed during a Twitter video Q&A that there was a villain which didn’t make it into Suicide Squad. This villain would have been the classic King Shark. The character’s first appearance was in Superboy in the 1990’s where he was portrayed as a humanoid shark. Unfortunately, the reason for his absence was that it would have taken up “a lot of work – a lot of CG work,” according to Ayer. One thing that fans instantly noticed about the new Justice League trailer is that it had a lighter tone and wittier sense of humor. This contrasted deeply with the previous two DC films, Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which were both dark and gritty. EW has just revealed that distributors Well Go USA Entertainment have gotten the North American rights to the classic Phantasm horror film series. This includes the recently-announced and completed Phantasm V: Ravager. Both that film and the original 1979 Phantasm, now retitled Phantasm: Remastered, will be getting theatrical releases. Phantasm: Remastered will screen first on Sept. 24 to celebrate Art House Theater Day. Then, Phantasm V: Ravager will be released in theaters and digital HD on Oct. 7. Many fans were surprised to hear that the newest Guardians of the Galaxy film would be having Kurt Russell portray Ego the Living Planet.
