A Gears of War film has been in various stages of development starting way back in 2007. The project has been stalled ever since, but it seems that may no longer be the case. At the Xbox Gears of War 4 live stream, Rod Fergusson, studio head of The Coalition, announced that the film is indeed happening. And it seems Microsoft will be pairing with Universal Pictures to make it happen. Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb’s tweet confirming the announcement can be found here: https://twitter.com/majornelson/status/783793360716886017 There was also a subsequent press release, announcing the film’s producers: “Scott Stuber (“Ted” series, “Central…

James Mangold’s Wolverine 3 has been officially Logan, and new information has quickly been getting released. Aside from the new title and poster, TheWrap has managed to reveal all sorts of plot details. Be warned, there are MAJOR SPOILERS ahead! While the child on the poster was theorized to be X-23, they revealed that she is a different character but still very much a mutant. They also said she “has two claws instead of three.” The film is set to be an adaptation of the Old Man Logan storyline, while taking place in 2024. It’ll also have a much darker tone…

Marvel fans still have a few more years to wait until Avengers: Infinity Wars hits theaters, but that hasn’t stopped any information from getting out regarding the new film. According to Schmoes Know, Guardians of the Galaxy’s Star-Lord will be one of the big heroes of the film. In fact, Star-Lord is supposed to be the first team member to make an appearance. This was to be expected, however, as Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord has been wonderfully received by fans. And he won’t be the only new Avenger, it seems. Actor Vin Diesel confirmed that the rest of the Guardians would…

Remember those nice friendly Marvel movies, and the especially family-friendly Guardians of the Galaxy? Yeah, well, not anymore. According to this list, Guardians of the Galaxy is the number one movie featuring the most on-screen deaths. How many people died, you ask? An astounding number of 83,871 people! And that’s not all, as Marvel’s The Avengers also takes the number ten spot with 1,019 on-screen deaths. What does James Gunn, writer and director of Guardians of the Galaxy think of all this? Well, it seems he’s a little unsure. https://twitter.com/JamesGunn/status/783358751872987136 Can’t say I blame the guy, as I’m sure his…

Wes Craven’s Scream briefly revived the horror genre for a short time in 1996. It brought self-referential humor to a style of film that was getting too dumbed down for its own good. One of the biggest selling-points was Neve Campbell, who already starred in The Craft released earlier that same year. On top of that was Drew Barrymore who took front and center on the film’s poster, and director Wes Craven who as we all know created A Nightmare on Elm Street. The three blended nicely to help create a marketing push that spiraled the film into the franchise…

The horror genre is notorious for casting no-name actors for the sole purpose of having them killed off by psychos and monsters. What most people don’t realize is sometimes these no-name actors end up becoming the biggest stars in Hollywood. Jennifer Anniston, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Hanks, even Leonardo DiCaprio – they all got their start in obscure, off-the-wall horror flicks. For example, Anniston’s first film had her alongside a homicidal Leprechaun. Meanwhile McConaughey got to play one of Leatherface’s seemingly infinite number of deranged family members. Yeah. And it keeps on getting weirder. Who knows? Maybe the next time you…

An interesting thing happened when Collider’s Steve Weintraub showed up for an interview with Samuel L. Jackson, only to realize he was wearing a Superman shirt. What ensued was quite the conversation regarding the DC and Marvel movie rivalry. “If you want to be in that world, that’s on you,” Jackson joked after seeing the shirt. He also said that, “success breeds contempt”. Weintraub, a fan of both franchises, asked, “Why can’t DC and Marvel movies be good?” after comparing them to political parties without compromise. “Isn’t that a question that people at DC are asking themselves?” Jackson replied. “I…

Last month director Zack Snyder tweeted a look at one of the new batsuits featured in the upcoming Justice League film. Fans everywhere, like usual, were divided and argued about whether or not the suit worked. This led to an onslaught of in-depth examinations from the fanbase as a whole. And now the man inside the suit, Ben Affleck, has voiced his thoughts. “There’s two suits in Justice League,” Affleck says in an interview with Extra. One is the one that we’ve seen before, and then one that he augments because of the nature of the mission, which I can’t…

The original Evil Dead is one of my all-time favorite films, especially with its fantastically silly sense of acting. And, it seems, Bruce Campbell may have revealed why their acting ended up so silly. The cast apparently tried following the footsteps of Jack Nicolson, attempting to shoot the film high. According to an interview with Conan, Bruce Campbell said: “We did, in fact, smoke marijuana because we had heard, in the famous Jack Nicholson movie Five Easy Pieces — no, Easy Rider — that he smoked like 47 joints before he shot that scene. And I thought, if he can…

A few days ago, a video went viral with John Carpenter revealing his thoughts on Rob Zombie and his rendition of Halloween. Here’s what the director initially said: He lied about me. He said I was very cold to him when he told me he was going to make it. Nothing could be further from the truth. I said, ‘Make it your own movie, man. This is yours now. Don’t worry about me.’ I was incredibly supportive. Why that piece of shit lied, I don’t know.” As many fans waited for Rob Zombie to respond, John Carpenter decided to clear…
