There are few franchises like the Phantasm series. Despite their incoherent nature, the films possess a strong continuity – something that continues to be present with the newest installment Phantasm V: Ravager. Beginning where Phantasm IV: Oblivion left off, Ravager finds our hero Reggie wandering the desert looking for his friend Mike. Reggie is also being mercilessly pursued by the Tall Man; a supernatural undertaker with the ability to channel dimensions, time, and even dreams. As I said before, this causes an incoherent narrative. The movie constantly switches between three different timelines. The “desert timeline”, which follows Reggie shortly after…
Freddy Krueger is one of the most iconic villains in horror, not to mention film in general. Everyone remembers him for his trademark sweater, fedora, and glove – but what some people may not know is he still changes quite a bit between each movie. Personally, I’ve got to say I love the original version the most – he looked so old and grimy, and more like a monster than he ever did in any of the sequels. HalloweenCostumes.com made a pretty cool inforgraphic with each incarnation of Freddy Krueger drawn out and detailed. You can also see the kill…
Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert Englund recently spoke with Florida Today about all of his past experiences with the classic Freddy Krueger franchise. One of his responses that really stood out, however, came when the interviewer asked Englund what he’d do for a sequel. “If I was in control of my own Nightmare on Elm Street movie I have an idea I would have liked to see,” said Englund. I thought it would be great if the children of previous victims, or just kids who grew up hearing stories about Freddy Krueger, were each haunted by their own…
Once Freddy vs Jason struck theaters in 2003, filmmakers were quickly rushing to figure out the next big crossover. One idea was to throw Evil Dead’s Ash Williams alongside Freddy and Jason, but the idea quickly dissipated. There were several reasons given for this, and Bruce Campbell recently opened up about one of them. The star, who is currently still playing Ash in the Starz series Ash vs Evil Dead, revealed the reasoning during a Reddit AMA. “Aside from Freddy and Jason, were any other crossovers ever discussed for Ash? Always thought Evil Dead/Hellraiser would be good,” asked one of…
We have an all-new poster and trailer for the upcoming last installment in the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. And it looks to be shaping up nicely, or at least nicely for the franchise. The use of Guns and Roses is always welcome as well. “Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead. Now, she must return to where the nightmare began – The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces…

The answer is…stay tuned.” This is just fuel to the fire that fans have started after demanding to see the…
At the New York Comic Con during a Q&A for the upcoming film Underworld: Blood Wars, franchise star Kate Beckinsale was asked about crossing over with Blade, Marvel’s iconic vampire hunter. “No. We had that idea. No.” Beckinsale said before revealing some exciting information: They’re busy. They’re doing something with Blade.” A new Blade project has been talked about off and on ever since Marvel reacquired the rights in 2012, and fans have been begging for a new entry ever since. The last Blade film was in 2004 with Blade: Trinity. Wesley Snipes, the original actor for Blade, has also…
Recently with E News, actor Ben Affleck took the time to discuss the title of his upcoming Batman movie while promoting The Accountant – and clarified some recent comments: I just mentioned the other day, its been around for a long time that the movie, there is no Batman movie happening yet, we’re still trying to figure it out, get the script, the budget, and all that stuff, and someone said what are you calling it, and I had said like, back when we were doing, like, promoting another movie, I was like ‘well, we don’t have a name for…
According to an announcement made at the New York Comic Con, the next animated DC film will be a sequel to Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders titled “Batman vs. Two-Face”. WB Animation president Sam Register was the one to reveal a new teaser, showing a silhouette of what looked like Two-Face. It then gave way to a video of William Shatner, who announced the film’s title and his role as Two-Face.
