We live in a world where movies are now being rebooted every few short years, leading up to endless road maps of sequels, prequels, and any other term executives can come up with. This, unsurprisingly, means we’ll be getting a sequel to this year’s Deadpool. And also unsurprisingly, it’ll be parodying the whole concept of the current filmmaking climate. “I think Deadpool 2 will comment on anything that’s happening in movies today, especially in superhero movies,” producer Simon Kinberg managed to say at this year’s TCAs. He also said it’ll comment on the sort of glut or saturation of these movies…

DC’s recent film releases have all been receiving extremely negative reception. This includes David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, the latest of DC’s new cinematic universe. The film currently has a 29% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is the same Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Although DC fans have been creating petitions against the website, it’s still proof that people aren’t responding well to these new movies. Although DC writer Geoff Johns was recently promoted and now has involvement with all of DC’s film projects, so hopefully he will save the likes of the upcoming Wonder Woman and Justice League movies from the faults…

It’s no mystery that Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice failed to receive the responses that both fans and the studio wanted to see. And, naturally, during an interview with JoBlo, Suicide Squad director David Ayer voiced his own thoughts on the matter: “I liked it a lot. I love Zack. He is probably the biggest fan of DC Comics. He has an incredible passion in a very specific way, a specific take on it. He’s a smart guy, and I think he heard everybody, he heard them loud and clear, and you grow and you evolve. I thought…
Marvel and DC are undoubtedly the two biggest superhero franchises of all time. And they’re quickly building up to becoming the two biggest film franchises as well (some could say Marvel already is). So naturally, there is often a debate of which is better and who would win if the two were to square off. That’s what this video from Screen Rant managed to tackle. It cuts together some of the best fight sequences from both franchises and merges them together to help the viewer imagine what it’d be like if heroes from Marvel and DC really did fight each…
Pumpkinhead is finally getting remade it seems, according to Entertainment Weekly. Producer Peter Block secured the rights to the project and is seeking out the perfect director to help get his vision made. The original film is, if you can’t tell by the name, an iconic cult horror classic. It also features some of the best practical effects in the genre. “Pumpkinhead is one of my favorite horror films of the late ’80s, early ’90s,” says Block. “Stan Winston sits on that Mount Rushmore of iconic filmmakers because of his creature designs, and that was his first directing effort. The…

Contrary to what audiences might believe, actor Jeremy Renner, known for playing Marvel’s Hawkeye, actually wasn’t too fond of playing the iconic superhero during The Avengers. At a Q&A in London the actor revealed that: “In the first Avengers… I was just getting to know who Hawkeye was, and then zap, I go round like a zombie, I’m like Loki’s minion,” he said. “And I’m still not even sure who Hawkeye was at that point. So I’m a little frustrated, because I was so excited to figure out who Hawkeye was.” Annoyed with his minimal amount of screen time from…
During Comic-Con, Marvel managed to screen a short mockumentary revealing what Thor was doing during the events of Captain America: Civil War. Although the footage still isn’t online, there was a photo released Monday with Thor playing Connect Four; and today there’s a new photo with Thor researching Thanos. The photo was posted by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi onto his Instagram. It shows Thor has began some research into “the purple man in the floating chair.” In other words, a crude drawing of Thanos and his infinity glove. Also, a few quick notes about being “purple”, having a “magic…
Director David Ayer revealed during a Twitter video Q&A that there was a villain which didn’t make it into Suicide Squad. This villain would have been the classic King Shark. The character’s first appearance was in Superboy in the 1990’s where he was portrayed as a humanoid shark. Unfortunately, the reason for his absence was that it would have taken up “a lot of work – a lot of CG work,” according to Ayer. He explained he didn’t want to try creating a totally digital character. And with that in mind, they decided to replace King Shark with Killer Croc,…
