The horror genre is notorious for casting no-name actors for the sole purpose of having them killed off by psychos and monsters. What most people don’t realize is sometimes these no-name actors end up becoming the biggest stars in Hollywood. Jennifer Anniston, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Hanks, even Leonardo DiCaprio – they all got their start in obscure, off-the-wall horror flicks. For example, Anniston’s first film had her alongside a homicidal Leprechaun. Meanwhile McConaughey got to play one of Leatherface’s seemingly infinite number of deranged family members. Yeah. And it keeps on getting weirder. Who knows? Maybe the next time you…

An interesting thing happened when Collider’s Steve Weintraub showed up for an interview with Samuel L. Jackson, only to realize he was wearing a Superman shirt. What ensued was quite the conversation regarding the DC and Marvel movie rivalry. “If you want to be in that world, that’s on you,” Jackson joked after seeing the shirt. He also said that, “success breeds contempt”. Weintraub, a fan of both franchises, asked, “Why can’t DC and Marvel movies be good?” after comparing them to political parties without compromise. “Isn’t that a question that people at DC are asking themselves?” Jackson replied. “I…
Last month director Zack Snyder tweeted a look at one of the new batsuits featured in the upcoming Justice League film. Fans everywhere, like usual, were divided and argued about whether or not the suit worked. This led to an onslaught of in-depth examinations from the fanbase as a whole. And now the man inside the suit, Ben Affleck, has voiced his thoughts. “There’s two suits in Justice League,” Affleck says in an interview with Extra. One is the one that we’ve seen before, and then one that he augments because of the nature of the mission, which I can’t…
The original Evil Dead is one of my all-time favorite films, especially with its fantastically silly sense of acting. And, it seems, Bruce Campbell may have revealed why their acting ended up so silly. The cast apparently tried following the footsteps of Jack Nicolson, attempting to shoot the film high. According to an interview with Conan, Bruce Campbell said: “We did, in fact, smoke marijuana because we had heard, in the famous Jack Nicholson movie Five Easy Pieces — no, Easy Rider — that he smoked like 47 joints before he shot that scene. And I thought, if he can…
A few days ago, a video went viral with John Carpenter revealing his thoughts on Rob Zombie and his rendition of Halloween. Here’s what the director initially said: He lied about me. He said I was very cold to him when he told me he was going to make it. Nothing could be further from the truth. I said, ‘Make it your own movie, man. This is yours now. Don’t worry about me.’ I was incredibly supportive. Why that piece of shit lied, I don’t know.” As many fans waited for Rob Zombie to respond, John Carpenter decided to clear…
The new adaptation of Stephen King’s It has finally wrapped production. And with everyone anxious to see more of the new Pennywise, we’ve finally gotten a new behind-the-scenes image! Photographer Christopher Mellvold took this photo while working on the set. It seems to show some kind of underground sewer, with a monitor in the middle displaying an image of Pennywise. The outfit isn’t too different from previously released photos, however, and we still get to see the medieval influences have remained. Check out the picture below: The film is about a group of childhood friends who reunite in their…
Captain America: Civil War is transitioning from its successful theatrical run to home video. And to help celebrate, Marvel has decided to release all kinds of new concept art. The images come from the book Captain America: Civil War: The Art of the Movie. You can see them for yourself below. Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly-formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity, but after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and…
Every year there’s a sleeper hit for the horror genre, and 2016 is no exception. This year we have the TIFF movie Raw – a film that’s a little too extreme for some moviegoers. In fact, a screening earlier this week ended with a call to the paramedics. THR reports that several patrons fainted from the intense levels of violence and gore portrayed in the film. The film’s marketing rep at TIFF, Ryan Werner, says that “an ambulance had to be called to the scene as the film became too much for a couple patrons.” He also compared the film’s…
In August Marvel had 93 comics on sale compared to DC’s 75. And yet? DC Comics devastated Marvel Comics across the marketshare board, even placing 9 titles in the top 10. Harley Quinn #1 happened to be in the first spot, with only Amazing Spider-Man #16 able to get Marvel into the top ten. All of Marvel’s other books were beat about by four comics starring Harley Quinn and one starring Supergirl. It looks like this may be the case until October, where Marvel may have the upper hand with their release of Champions of #1. And, just to give…
8-Bit Movie Trailers has taken a shot at recreating the Comic-Con trailer for Justice League – and they do it perfectly. The video recreates the trailer shot for shot but adapts it to an old-school arcade format. The trailer follows Bruce Wayne in his attempt to track down Aquaman, his meeting with The Flash, and a quick montage of each hero displaying their different strengths. Finally, the heroes all join forces, preparing to unite against an unseen threat. This pretty much sums up the official plot of the film, which you can read below: “Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill),…
