There seems to be plenty of other nations besides the United States getting excited over the new IT film, as you can see in this prank from Brazil below. The prank is setup with a man in a Pennywise outfit hiding in a sewer drain. He’s accompanied by a kid posing as “Georgie” telling random individuals that his paper boat is lost in the sewer. It continues with citizens attempting to reach for the boat, before “Pennywise” leaps out and scares them running into the streets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=az4amgoeUOk&feature=youtu.be It’s a rather terrifying prank, and one that accompanies the movie perfectly. CineFix has proven you don’t need millions of dollars to make a great trailer – as they’ve managed to produce a rather faithful reproduction of the Thor: Ragnarok promo. The props used in the making of the trailer are simply ordinary household items and tools, proving that innovation and creativity can go a long way when producing something. Check out the CineFix trailer below! https://youtu.be/29RUeUXqSK8 And, if you wanna see how close they got it, here’s a side-by-side comparison! https://youtu.be/CXafZrssgnY Meanwhile, Kevin Feige himself insists that Thor: Ragnarok will have a totally separate feel compared to the other Marvel films.…
There’s a police department in Pennsylvania that’s been getting a lot of attention online thanks to a prank inspired by the upcoming IT adaptation. On Tuesday morning, the Lititz Borough Police Department shared two photos of the prank, which are very surreal depictions of something that could easily be a scene from the movie. Someone had tied a bright red balloon to a sewer grate, as if Pennywise himself were tempting civilians to come down and “float”. The department managed to say “we want the local prankster to know that we were completely terrified as we removed these balloons from…
For fans of the Jeepers Creepers franchise – the time for the next sequel is almost at hand. After years in development hell, the movie has actually finished production, with a quickly impending release date. But act fast, as its theatrical release seems to be a one day only affair. A new trailer has been released to advertise this one day showing, and it promises a rather dark return to the roots of the franchise. The Creeper is presented as a malevolent force, and the campiness of Jeepers Creepers 2 seems to be toned down. A good sign indeed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Owwu5M5DaSk&feature=youtu.be…
With the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s IT rushing towards theaters next month, many fans have wondered if the film would include a rather controversial sex scene from the original novel. In fact, we recently did an entire article theorizing its inclusion based on the R rating and a number of other interesting factors – and already determined it would not be included. But now director Andy Muschietti has spoken with Collider about the infamous sex scene, and how it will not be included in his new film (potential spoilers): “Well, I think the whole story is a bit of…
Ever since it was announced that Danny McBride and David Gordon Green would lead the team to revive the Halloween franchise, reactions by fans have been mixed. While the two have a resume consisting mostly of comedies, some fans believe that’s what will allow them to inject something fresh into the seemingly dead series. Other fans are more skeptical, thinking that someone more familiar with the genre should be attached. And apparently that almost happened. While speaking with The Movie Crypt in an effort to promote his Death Note adaptation, director Adam Wingard revealed he almost got to helm the…
Tobe Hooper, best known for having directed the 1974 motion picture The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (widely considered the greatest horror film ever made), has passed away Saturday in Sherman Oaks, California at age 74 according to the Los Angeles County Coroner. The cause of death is currently unknown. His film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre became an instant classic for the horror genre; and grew to become one of the most successful independent films of the 1970s. Hooper followed it up in 1986 with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2, which took a more comedic route. Even still the…
While the release for IT draws even nearer, one theater chain is decidedly making the release even more special. They intend to hold a special screening for the film that will only allow clowns! The Alamo Drafthouse will host the screening, at their Austin, Texas Mueller location on September 9th. Here’s how they’ve described the screening, which you will be restricted from joining if you’re not in costume: “For this special screening of IT, all attendees should arrive dressed as a clown in order to attend. Please arrive early and join us in the Barrel O’ Fun beginning at 5:30pm…
There’s a new report that suggests the death of a stuntwoman who died during the production of Deadpool 2 could’ve been prevented. The woman was 40-year-old Joi “SJ” Harris, who died while performing an action scene as Zazie Beetz’ Domino character. She died on the scene and production on the film was immediately shutdown. Although she happened to be an experienced driver, the scene was her first stunt work in a film, and she died during the first take. Now THR is reporting that crew members had tried warning the film’s producers about Harris, who they felt was too inexperienced.…
In the 1980s we were gifted with eight Friday the 13th films. In the near decade since the 2009 remake, we’ve received nothing. It’s a shame considering how easy it would be to continue the franchise and how little effort anyone has put into it. Hannibal writer Nick Antosca, however, was one of the few driving forces to getting the franchise going again before he was detached from the eventually-canceled reboot. And now he’s revealed some rather interesting details regarding what would’ve been featured in his version. He explained that the draft of his we all know about was in…
