Universal has finally done it. In their desperation to compete with Marvel’s Cinematic Universe and the consistently growing DC film franchise, they’ve began to launch their own universe. But this one isn’t of heroes – rather, they’re utilizing their catalog of monsters from the 1930s to 1950s. Unfortunately I don’t think they remember how those monsters worked. With that said, they’ve just released their new trailer for The Mummy, set to star Tom Cruise in the leading role and Sofia Boutella as the titular Mummy. But take a close look, and try to consider, what exactly does this trailer show…

There’s been some new updates on the upcoming Spawn film thanks to an interview between Spawn creator Todd McFarland and ComicBook.com. According to McFarland, he wants to make the film different than both the original 1998 adaptation and the current wave of superhero fare: “It’s slowly moving forward, just trying to put all the pieces together both from an artistic and a financial. The intent is trying to finance as much as possible internally and then finding partners who will help in the production of it as we move forward,” McFarlane said. “I can argue getting the money might be…

Earlier today, we were treated to footage descriptions of Spider-Man: Homecoming and some alleged new pictures from that footage. I use the word “treated” very lightly, as it was somewhat a letdown that no actual footage from Homecoming was released to the public. Marvel is still on it with their teasing, however, as a new promotional image from Thor: Ragnarok has been released and it features the title character, as well as Hulk. Check it out below: The art depicts Thor with a new costume and weapons, while the Hulk is wearing a new gladiator suit which we’ve heard so…

Fans have been waiting for the new Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer all morning, and although it still hasn’t been released, CCXP Brazil has seen a few new clips. This included footage of Peter getting his upgraded suit from Tony Stark by Happy Hogan. The suit came in a metal briefcase, and after trying it on, he used it while jumping off the Washington Monument – which revealed webbing underneath his arms. Check them out below: https://twitter.com/tomhollabr/status/804737683897679873 https://twitter.com/andresborna/status/804738857086451712 The few pictures available of Peter grabbing the briefcase, while not as great as the trailer would be, do help the wait for whenever…

Theories are a big part of any major franchise, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is no different. The whereabouts of the The Space Stone, Reality Stone, Power Stone, Mind Stone, Time Stone are all known. But The Soul Stone? That has been unknown. That’s why reader Justine Ryne came up with an interesting theory about the Soul Stone, the last remaining Infinity Gem. According to ComicBook.com, Ryne suggests the stone is with Heimdall: “In Norse mythology, Odin gives him his sight. Heimdals eyes are orange. In Thor: The Dark World, he is quoted saying he can see all the souls…

Clay Enos, set photographer for DC Films, tends to be a large supporter of a mobile app called Vero. It’s been his exclusive format to post set photos from his projects before using Instagram or Twitter, and now it seems director Zack Snyder is following suit. Snyder’s most recent photo, shared two days ago on his 68-day-old account, just so happens to be a small boat on the coast of Iceland. And what’s so special about that? It’s part of where Justice League was shot! The photo was even captioned, “Part of the set for JL in Iceland”. There’s a…

Originally slated for next October, and then August, Alien: Covenant is set for theaters sooner than we think – and it seems nothing will stop it now as the first poster has been released. Although it’s just a teaser poster, it’s actually rather nice just to see the original Xenomorph again. That alone reveals quite a lot about the movie. And the tagline “Run.” is pretty straight to the point as well. It’s not as catchy as “In space no one can hear you scream,” but the message is pretty much the same. You’re screwed. The first poster is also…

WWE star Brock Lesnar recently lost to Bill Goldberg in devastating fashion; a wrestler who hasn’t participated in over ten years prior to the Survivor Series clash. With that in people’s minds, alongside the quickly-approaching Christmas season, it only makes sense to take a look at 2005’s Santa’s Slay. Why? Because it stars Bill Goldberg, of course! Directed by David Steiman, the film features a horrifying version of Santa Claus played by Bill Goldberg. In this story we learn that Santa is actually the son of Satan, who has to deliver gifts for 1,000 years after losing a bet to…

With everyone trying to cash-in on the new Logan trailer by creating their own variations, both from DC and Marvel, it’s Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man that really works with it. The trailer focuses a lot on Peter Parker and how he lost his Uncle Ben, something that really works with the somber tone of the trailer and song. And soon enough, when the music begins to amp up, so does the footage. The video quickly leads into various explosions and action sequences from the film before ending at Spider-Man’s final battle with the Green Goblin. Created by WebHeadHolland, the video proves…

One of actor Michael Shannon’s most popular roles is in 2013’s Man of Steel, where he plays General Zod; a Kryptonian military leader and enemy of Superman. While fans consider him one of the best parts of the movie, the actor recently explained in an interview with Fandango why he took the role: “When I did Man of Steel I thought the story was interesting; I thought it was relevant. It was about a civilization that destroys the planet they live on and goes looking for another one. Ring any bells? That’s why I did it. I didn’t do it…
