A few weeks ago it was revealed that Suicide Squad director David Ayer would be returning to the DC Cinematic Universe to direct Gotham City Sirens. Soon after, Ayer tweeted an image with the comic book versions of Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy. This confirmed that the three characters will star in the film, with Quinn being played by Margot Robbie similar to Suicide Squad. The film has also been suggested to begin shooting soon, and everyone is throwing in their picks to play the new characters. And that includes digital artist Boss Logic, who designed his own idea…

It was a great year for Star Wars fans in 2015, when The Force Awakens brought back several of our old favorite heroes back to the mainstream. This included Princess Leia, who was played by the amazing Carrie Fisher. Unfortunately, the actress passed away today at 60 years old, just days after suffering a heart attack. But it seems The Force Awakens won’t be the last time we’ll get to see the beloved Leia, as it’s been suggested her filming for Episode 8 has been completed ahead of all of these events. TMZ has revealed that she recorded all of…
New Line Cinema has finally given us our first look at Pennywise in action. It’s a little different from the previously-released posters, as it’s from the actual film, so I think it’s worth examining. Pennywise’s clothing seems to be made up of dark browns and grays that quite nicely match the sewer environment given. It all blends together and creates this sort of murky atmosphere. Unfortunately I just can’t get behind the design itself. It’s a little too murky. The rendition played by Tim Curry in 1991 was really bright and colorful for a reason – he was meant to…
Despite the reasoning behind Batman and Superman’s fighting in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, it does make perfect sense the two would be at odds against one another. After all, they each have their own motivations and methods regarding fighting crime, and it was only a matter of time before they’d struggle against one another. And with the way their own versus film ended, Superman was allegedly killed and it was up to Batman and Wonder Woman to begin recruiting meta-humans to start fighting crime and whatever villainy was to come next. All of which is supposed to lead…
After weeks of waiting, we’ve finally gotten the first trailer for the all-new sequel to Prometheus, Alien: Covenant. And just in time for Christmas. The trailer makes the film look especially promising, as it seems to lose a lot of its Prometheus connections and focuses more on the outright horror of Alien. And I like that. It’s about time we get to see some of the grotesque body horror and darkness the original film is known for, and I think it’ll be just the thing to make up for Prometheus. We also get to see some more recognizable Xenomorph creatures,…
Actress Carrie Fisher had suffered a severe heart attack this Friday. She was on a flight from London to Los Angeles when she went into cardiac arrest. Per the report: Carrie Fisher suffered a massive heart attack Friday on an airplane … TMZ has learned. Our sources say Carrie was on a United flight from London to LAX when she went into cardiac arrest. People on board were administering CPR. Warner Bros.’ DC Cinematic Universe is still in its early stages, and thus far has suffered from a lack of critical praise, as evident in any comment section on the internet. WB aims to change this with their newest upcoming installments, Wonder Woman and Justice League. The company has already appointed Geoff Johns as president of DC Entertainment, and Zack Snyder will be taking a break from DC after the release of Justice League. Charles Roven, another one of DC’s main producers, recently spoke with THR about how Wonder Woman and Justice League will differ from past projects. “Wonder Woman…
People like to hate remakes. And sometimes I can be one of those people. Other times, however? I absolutely love remakes. There’s David Cronenberg’s The Fly, John Carpenter’s The Thing, and an underrated favorite of mine, The Blob. Unfortunately, it seems that most filmmakers don’t understand how to properly remake a film. It’s not about taking the biggest and most profitable name and making a half-hearted rehash because “the original can’t be beat.” It’s about taking a fantastic concept, one that never met its full potential, and making sure it does the next time around. And it finally seems like…
Although most audiences might not have been familiar with the Suicide Squad until the film adaptation was announced, they have been a part of DC Comics since as early as 1959. With such a lengthy history, it’s not at all shocking that a video game would someday be put into production. Unfortunately the game, which became Suicide Squad: Special Ops, was rather badly made and only allowed players to utilize up to three characters. That’s why, when it was rumored we would be getting a much more fleshed-out game, fans became incredibly excited. However, according to Kotaku, the game was…
Most people recognize Batman as one of the darker aspects of the DC Comics Universe, and perhaps comics or entertainment in general. And so it’s natural for audiences not to connect Batman or related shows like Gotham to a sitcom such as Friends. One person, however, did. And with Giuls Shofer’s new fan video, it makes you wonder why someone hadn’t thought of it sooner. The video places the world of Gotham into a place of levity and laughter, not unlike the actual show Friends, and I can’t help but wish there was an actual series with this kind of…
