The last time we saw Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was four years ago in 2013. The film was Iron Man 3 and happened to be the last one in her contract. Despite several rumors in the past that she may show up in Avengers: Age of Ultron or Captain America: Civil War, she’s been completely absent from the films. Not counting Robert Downey Jr.’s few lines of dialogue as Tony Stark, regarding how he and Paltrow’s character Pepper are on a break. Sony is continuing to make progress on their planned Venom spinoff, and SplashReport.com may have gotten word for who will be directing. The movie is rumored to be rated R and feature a more outright science-fiction horror vibe, which would put it in the same playing field as Fox’s R-rated Deadpool and Logan films. It’s also supposed to be disconnected from Spider-Man, which means Venom would stand out as its own potential franchise. The director in mind from SplashReport is none other than Adi Shankar. He’s primarily known as a producer, but he did direct the short fan film “Truth…

Sony Pictures chief and Spider-Man: Homecoming producer Amy Pascal has dropped some rather surprising news. At CinemaCon 2017, she decided to tell the press that there may not be any further collaboration between Sony and Marvel once the two studios complete the already-planned Homecoming sequel. She had this to say towards Cosmic Book News: “One of the things that I think is so amazing about this experience is that you don’t have studios deciding to work together to make a film very often. In fact, it may never happen again—after we do the sequel. Because Sony and Disney and Marvel…

And now today, we have a brand new poster and short teaser video that tease the release of the trailer tomorrow, Wednesday, March 29. As can be expected, the trailer doesn’t really reveal any important characters from the film. It does, however, give us an eerie revelation that “we all float down here” while the camera soars through a sewer drain. And, of course, there’s a few other pieces of dialogue from the film accompanying it. This includes Finn Wolfhard as Richie Tolzier,…

Dark Horizons managed to get a trio of new It photos from the upcoming 2017 film of the same name, and they look pretty cool. The images come straight from the trailer which is supposed to hit this Wednesday. First off, we get a look at the Losers’ Club, as they gather around a slide projector in a basement. The scene appears to be replacing the scrapbook sequence from the book and 1990 miniseries, and potentially for the better. And I don’t know about anyone else, but doesn’t it have a bit of a Sinister vibe? The film reels were…

It was revealed earlier this month that Sony set aside the date October 5, 2018 for the release of Venom. As of right now the only person attached to the film is screenwriter Dante Harper. However, it appears Sony is aiming to start shooting in the fall of 2017, so there’s likely going to be more names attached to the project in the coming months. It also appears that the film is being considered a “sci-fi horror”. The film also will not include any connections to Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming, or any of Sony’s prior Spider-Man films. Its continuity will…

Logan is a unique superhero film in a genre littered with PG-13 ratings and endless special effects. The film focuses on characterization and story, not to mention atmosphere, and it seems like plenty of future superhero films will be taking notice. Unfortunately one character, that no doubt deserves this treatment, is likely not going to get it – our beloved Dark Knight. With the way Warner Bros. has been treating their properties, Batman will likely remain PG-13 and stripped from his source material. But what would a Logan-styled Batman film look like? Could it work? Well, We Got This Covered…

Not too long ago, a new theory about the upcoming movie Life came about. The theory came from Reddit and suggested that Life could actually be another movie in disguise. And, what movie is that, you ask? A setup for a Venom film, no less. It could make sense given that Venom is an extraterrestrial monster and Life seems to focus on a similar alien. And there’s actually a few connections that could suggest Life has an ulterior motive – such as the film being produced by Sony, the writers behind it once wrote a script for a Venom film,…
