Sony Pictures chief and Spider-Man: Homecoming producer Amy Pascal has dropped some rather surprising news. At CinemaCon 2017, she decided to tell the press that there may not be any further collaboration between Sony and Marvel once the two studios complete the already-planned Homecoming sequel. She had this to say towards Cosmic Book News: “One of the things that I think is so amazing about this experience is that you don’t have studios deciding to work together to make a film very often. In fact, it may never happen again—after we do the sequel. Because Sony and Disney and Marvel…

Ever since the three photos from It were released yesterday, fans have been ecstatic for more Pennywise. And now today, we have a brand new poster and short teaser video that tease the release of the trailer tomorrow, Wednesday, March 29. As can be expected, the trailer doesn’t really reveal any important characters from the film. It does, however, give us an eerie revelation that “we all float down here” while the camera soars through a sewer drain. And, of course, there’s a few other pieces of dialogue from the film accompanying it. This includes Finn Wolfhard as Richie Tolzier,…
Dark Horizons managed to get a trio of new It photos from the upcoming 2017 film of the same name, and they look pretty cool. The images come straight from the trailer which is supposed to hit this Wednesday. First off, we get a look at the Losers’ Club, as they gather around a slide projector in a basement. The scene appears to be replacing the scrapbook sequence from the book and 1990 miniseries, and potentially for the better. And I don’t know about anyone else, but doesn’t it have a bit of a Sinister vibe? The film reels were…
It was revealed earlier this month that Sony set aside the date October 5, 2018 for the release of Venom. As of right now the only person attached to the film is screenwriter Dante Harper. However, it appears Sony is aiming to start shooting in the fall of 2017, so there’s likely going to be more names attached to the project in the coming months. It also appears that the film is being considered a “sci-fi horror”. The film also will not include any connections to Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming, or any of Sony’s prior Spider-Man films. Its continuity will…
Logan is a unique superhero film in a genre littered with PG-13 ratings and endless special effects. The film focuses on characterization and story, not to mention atmosphere, and it seems like plenty of future superhero films will be taking notice. Unfortunately one character, that no doubt deserves this treatment, is likely not going to get it – our beloved Dark Knight. With the way Warner Bros. has been treating their properties, Batman will likely remain PG-13 and stripped from his source material. But what would a Logan-styled Batman film look like? Could it work? Well, We Got This Covered…
A week has already passed since the first footage from Stephen King’s It premiered at SXSW. One of the writers at Bloody-Disgusting managed to get a look at the footage during the event, and quickly described it in detail. Fans everywhere have been waiting eagerly ever since with the hope that the footage will be released online soon. And, although that still has yet to happen, we’ve been given a nice little treat thanks to Empire Magazine. It’s a still image that seems to be taken directly from the SXSW trailer described by Bloody-Disgusting. “The trailer opens with footage of…
Not too long ago, a new theory about the upcoming movie Life came about. The theory came from Reddit and suggested that Life could actually be another movie in disguise. And, what movie is that, you ask? A setup for a Venom film, no less. It could make sense given that Venom is an extraterrestrial monster and Life seems to focus on a similar alien. And there’s actually a few connections that could suggest Life has an ulterior motive – such as the film being produced by Sony, the writers behind it once wrote a script for a Venom film,…
Horror films are reincarnated time and time again. This year alone boasts the terrifying clown film It, a new Alien film, and follow ups to The Ring, Friday the 13th, and Insidious. Each time these stories return to the screen, there is an opportunity to deepen the plot. One of the things that the 2010 A Nightmare on Elm Street tried to do was change up the origin of Freddy Krueger. Instead of being labeled a serial killer, he was made a child molester; and for first-time viewers of the film, it tries to lead you into believing he was…
Chris Evans has seemingly revealed that once his contract with Marvel expires, he’ll be moving on from his Captain America role. Originally Evans was wanted by Marvel Studios for a nine-film contract, which Evans refused to and agreed to only appear in a mere six films. And it just so happens that his sixth film will be Avengers: Infinity War. While talking about his work with Esquire, the interview noted that he definitely seemed ready to leave Marvel behind after Avengers: Infinity War. Per the interview: “Settling in on the couch, he groans. Evans explains that he’s hurting all over…
Fans of the X-Men franchise have recently found it difficult to keep track of the movie series. After all, while X-Men: Apocalypse takes place in the 1980s, there’s the newly-released Logan that takes place in 2029 with a supposedly different timeline. While film producer Simon Kinberg attempted to explain this confusion, he revealed a key detail for the upcoming X-Force film; it’ll star Deadpool and Cable as the leads. It’s been previously teased by the Deadpool 2 writers that the titular character could be crossing into X-Force, and it certainly makes sense. After all, Deadpool and Cable were two long-running…
