There’s been a variety of unmade projects for the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, including a prequel that would’ve heavily featured Charles Manson. But CinemaBlend recently got to speak with Robert Englund about some of the unmade projects we haven’t heard about, and he revealed his own idea for A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, which would’ve focused more on the mythology of Tina Gray from the original. Englund explained: “I worked on my own draft for Part 3. Mine would’ve been about a sister. If Tina had a sister, and Tina’s sister would come to solve it.”…

Everyone is familiar with the YouTube series Honest Trailers, but now it turns out the creator – Andy Signore – is being accused of sexual abuse. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there are currently two accusers. One of which was a former intern for Signore, and used social media on Friday to publicly claim Signore uses his position to prey on women. Emma Bower was the intern’s name, and she chose now as the time to speak up after The New York Times accused film producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual abuse with actresses and employees. Bower continued to explain that…
Burger King Germany recently hijacked the ending to a screening of Andy Muschietti’s IT, starring Bill Skarsgård. The company implemented a warning against trusting clowns. Not too long ago, the Russian branch of Burger King had urged their government to ban the film as they were upset with Pennywise’s resemblance to Ronald McDonald. But it’s the German branch that seems to have a more lighthearted approach, using Pennywise for their own benefit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xx_kf-mCKYo&feature=youtu.be Their message began right before the end credits of IT, where they lit the screen up with two spotlights. The first said “The Moral Is: Never Trust…
It’s been announced that starting today, October 5, the streaming service Netflix will begin raising subscriber prices for certain plans. However the rates are only going up by a few dollars at most. According to Business Insider, the lowest-tier plan will remain unchanged. But of course the “standard” and most popular plan which includes HD and two simultaneous streams is moving up from $9.99 a month to $10.99. The highest-tier plan that allows for 4K and four simultaneous steams will increase from $11.99 to $13.99. The current subscribers will be notified of the changes by October 19, with the prices…
Who would’ve thought Andy Muschietti’s IT movie adaptation starring Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise the Clown looked so good on VHS? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sTBh7SuHDE New Line Cinema has been seeing a change of form lately, as the more things change the more they stay the same. The once low budget film production studio managed to survive the 1980s thanks to A Nightmare on Elm Street’s huge success. The studio was dubbed ‘The House That Freddy Built’ soon after and grew rich on a variety of similar horror film successes. The company was eventually bought out by Warner Bros. but now you could say history…
Yesterday Cult of Chucky was released on Blu-ray and DVD, as well as streaming service Netflix. This was all after a weeklong leak of the film went viral across the Internet. Unfortunately things seem to be even worse for the film as the Netflix release isn’t even the unrated edition. This means there’s at least a minute of footage missing and the awesome post credits scene was removed. So if you’re a fan of the franchise who’s eager to dig into Chucky’s return, you might be better off doing it with the physical release or some other VOD service that…
One of the most hated horror sequels ever made happened to be 2004’s Seed of Chucky. It took a once serious horror franchise and threw it into a satirical piece about Hollywood culture. Fans were shocked and the negative reception nearly killed the franchise. It wouldn’t be until 2013 that another Chucky film would be produced – and even then, in a step down from its theatrical predecessors, it was released straight-to-video. But did Seed of Chucky really deserve the hate? If you ignore the cheesy digital opening credits, some of the logical inconsistencies, and the budgetary restraints – there’s…
Jason Voorhees is one of the most notorious slashers in horror movie history. And in the late 1980’s, although the quality of his films lowered, his fan reception only grew more and more. And so by the time Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan came about, the masked maniac even got to do his first interview. That’s right, Jason Voorhees got to have a seat on the Arsenio Hall Show in 1989 to promote the New York-set sequel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09yOZsZuxMY Unfortunately it’s also a sign of how much of a parody the series had become, and not even the…
Strangely enough, there’s plenty of children’s films that tend to go a little overboard with their content. These movies have left their marks on all of our childhood memories, but one flick in particular has stood out. The Adventures of Mark Twain is a 1985 stop-motion animated fantasy film inspired by the works of author Mark Twain – and one scene makes it a very disturbing cartoon, especially for children! The plot follows Twain as he attempts to keep his appointment with Halley’s comment. He’s accompanied by his iconic characters Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, and Becky Thatcher. Eventually the film…
While everyone is going crazy for Stephen King, especially after the massive success of IT, the iconic author has revealed that two of his most popular stories are due for new adaptations; the vampire tale ‘Salem’s Lot and apocalyptic epic The Stand. In a recent interview with Vulture, King said: “There’s talk about doing The Stand as an extended TV series, possibly for Showtime or CBS All Access, and there’s been some interest in developing Salem’s Lot as a feature. Probably because people are saying, ‘Well, we took an old miniseries called It and turned it into a phenomenon, so…
