Although some have lost hope since Trick ‘r Treat 2, the sequel to 2007’s Trick ‘r Treat, was announced several years ago with no progress made, Michael Dougherty still hopes to start production soon. Trick ‘r Treat quickly became a cult classic after its direct-to-video release, spawning comic books and even short webisodes for the now defunct FEARnet. It only took a few short years before Legendary Pictures announced that an official film sequel would go into production – but that still has yet to happen. Dougherty has been keeping himself busy with projects like Krampus and the upcoming sequel to…

If there’s one crazy fad from last year, it was that of the killer clowns. It seemed reports were coming in from everywhere about people dressed in clown costumes stalking innocent bystanders. It’s been relatively quiet since, but now the problem seems to have shifted to the United Kingdom. In fact, it’s gotten so bad that British officials have taken action against the clowns. With the massive success of this year’s IT movie, it’s not really surprising that the trend has come back. iNews has reported that the clown incidents began in Kent, when a group of youths appeared wearing…
A Nightmare on Elm Street is one of my all-time favorite horror films. It was created in a time period when slashers dominated the genre, and audiences were exhausted with the same traditionally masked psychopaths. But Wes Craven’s introduction of Freddy Krueger changed all of that. It wouldn’t be until 26 years later that his masterpiece would be completely remade, and audiences everywhere would be disappointed. But why? I’ll tell you one thing – it’s not the fact it’s a remake. That shouldn’t have mattered with a timeless concept like A Nightmare on Elm Street. The series was already technically…
You may already be aware that screenwriter Max Landis has no problem with creating and pitching film concepts on the spot. But his latest pitch would see a crossover movie between a variety of horror icons – and at the very least it sounds pretty interesting. In an interview with The Writer’s Panel Podcast, Landis was quickly asked if there was an existing IP the screenwriter would like to be a part of. He was quick to say, “Yeah, the thing I’ve been pitching for six f***ing years!” He then went into detail about his project, that would begin in…
While nowadays post-credits scenes are almost the norm rather than the exception, it was incredibly rare to see in films during the 1980s. Especially when it comes to horror films. But now we know that The Lost Boys, from director Joel Shumacher, almost had a post credits sequence. It’s all explained in Paul Davis’ book Lost in the Shadows: The Story of The Lost Boys. Davis reveals that there was going to be a return to the main vampire lair after the credits. As the camera pans through the cave, it would stop at a mural on the wall. The…
Everyone is familiar with the infamous ending of The Devil’s Rejects, where the titular Rejects consisting of Baby Firefly, Captain Spaulding, and Otis Driftwood drive straight into a police shootout and end their lives. But now Zombie seems to want to bring the Rejects back for another round of violence and chaos. Bloody-Disgusting has confirmed that Rob Zombie is prepping to shoot another entry in his series of films that begin with House of 1000 Corpses and the aforementioned The Devil’s Rejects. Of course there are no story details as of yet, so the film could be a prequel or…
A new motion poster has been released for the upcoming Predator sequel, following the release of the first poster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23J9VtVqMzY&feature=youtu.be The design certainly isn’t what you’d expect from a Predator film, and yet it does remind me a lot of the artwork for Predator 2 with the use of lightning and an apparent city setting. This mix of both new and old could really be what the franchise needs, and Fox Studios’ head Stacey Snider seems to agree. Snider recently told Variety: “We’ve got a Predator film coming out that is unexpected and utterly fresh. I just imagined that it…
Well, this was certainly unexpected. It looks like Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles producer Michael Bay has been signed on to produce a live-action adaptation of Dora the Explorer. Yes, the lighthearted children’s television series that follows a young girl going on small adventures with her anthropomorphic animal and object friends. It’s been rumored for several years now that the series would be getting a film adaptation from Paramount Pictures. In fact there were even tumors from 2013 and 2015 that Michael Bay was attached, with a script from Tom Wheeler that was eventually rejected. But now THR is…
The latest adaptation of Stephen King’s IT is no doubt one of the biggest horror movies of all time. And everyone is getting in on the hype and having fun – including a certain writer from the likes of The Colbert Report and BuzzFeed. The writer, Jesse McLaren, decided to play around with his sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law’s engagement photos. McLaren was asked to shoot the photos for the occasion, and upon editing them in Photoshop, he managed to sneak in images of Pennywise into all of them. You can see some of the examples in McLaren’s tweet below. My…
Bruce Campbell, lead actor and producer of the STARZ series Ash vs. Evil Dead, is speaking out against those who illegally download the show. The first season premiered in 2015 after fans begged for Ash’s return following the 2013 remake. And the filmmakers truly delivered – giving a series with nods to past films, returning characters and actors, and a lore that expands on elements from the films which fans never even dreamed of getting to learn more about. Unfortunately its popularity is making it a big item for pirates, and it could kill the series. STARZ is actually seriously…
