While DC is playing catch-up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have been interested in seeing the two film franchises clash in a potential Marvel DC crossover. And it turns out they aren’t the only ones – the cast of Justice League feels the same! The cast was recently interviewed by Channel News Asia, who brought up the question of crossing over with Marvel. They all showed tremendous interest, particularly Ben Affleck who plays Batman. “I don’t own Marvel or DC, but I think it would be great,” Affleck said. “I’m sure if it could be successful for everybody people…

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors is easily one of the most beloved entries in the Elm Street franchise. It not only launched Freddy Krueger as the ultimate horror pop culture icon, but pushed the boundaries for the horror genre by implementing cutting edge effects and well-written characters. And it’s just recently passed the point of being 30 years old! With Dream Warriors reaching such an important anniversary date, a variety of cast members from the film reunited at New Jersey’s Chiller Theatre convention just before Halloween weekend. The group decided to recreate one of the most iconic…
Apparently the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Thor: Ragnarok, has a secret crossover with DC’s Green Lantern. And it all starts with a Shake Weight. Before Taika Waititi got the chance to direct the latest Thor sequel, he had previously acted in Warner Bros.’ 2011 Green Lantern movie adaptation. And now it turns out that he brought something to Thor from that very production. There’s a point in the film where Karl Urban’s character Skurge is bragging about his collection of trophies from Earth. One of these just so happens to be a Shake Weight – according to Fandango: “The…

John Carpenter’s 1978 film Halloween was one of the most groundbreaking films released under the horror genre. It took elements from several decades before it and combined them together to create a new genre of terror – the slasher film, to be exact. And it managed to launch its antagonist Michael Myers aka the Shape into the consciousness of moviegoers everywhere. A sequel titled Halloween II was released in 1981, attempting to meet the expectations of fans after the success of the original and its copycats (Friday the 13th being a popular one). Although it was met with a mid…
The iconic DC villain Darkseid was given an interesting and scary new form as a baby with the DC Rebirth, but Darkseid is already growing up to be quite the monster. Though, after giving Batman a gender change, we can’t say we’re not expecting surprises from DC. With the latest issue of DC’s Wonder Woman series, we get to find out that Darkseid is no longer a terrifying infant but a troublesome teenager. We also learn that he requires souls to grow, and so far he’s doing a pretty good job at that. If you’re interested in seeing the adolescent…
It took years for Amityville: The Awakening to find a release date since filming for the movie took place in 2014. And as if adding insult to injury, the film was released to theaters last Friday where it received one of the worst opening weekends of all time. According to Box Office Mojo, the latest installment in the Amityville franchise managed to only make a small $742 nationwide. What a devastating number. Considering the prices of tickets these days, it would mean that 83 people saw the movie nationwide. But it makes sense considering how often the film was delayed,…
IT director Andy Muschietti has already expressed interest in the past about wanting to direct an adaptation of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, but it looks like Paramount had a different idea. It’s been reported by Deadline that writer/director duo Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch have been tapped to revive King’s story. The novel was previously adapted in 1989, in which the film later spawned a sequel in 1991 starring Terminator 2’s Edward Furlong. You may remember the writer/director duo’s 2014 film Starry Eyes, so although they may not have experience with King’s works, they sure know their horror. Starry Eyes…
The Resident Evil franchise came to life in 1996, where it quickly exploded into a worldwide phenomenon. It not only spawned a series of games, anime, movies, and endless other merchandising opportunities – but helped create the survival horror genre of gaming as we know it today. Now we know there was once also going to be a television series thrown into the mix with the title Arklay. A pilot for the series called DAVE was recently uploaded to Vimeo. It follows a detective named Reinhardt as he works to solve the case of his brother’s death. There aren’t any…
A still of the new Pinhead has been released for Hellraiser: Judgment, the latest entry in the classic horror franchise. While most of the previous nine installments were direct-to-video and nowhere near the power of the original Clive Barker-directed film, this new entry is being reported as a return to form.
