Strangely enough, there’s plenty of children’s films that tend to go a little overboard with their content. These movies have left their marks on all of our childhood memories, but one flick in particular has stood out. The Adventures of Mark Twain is a 1985 stop-motion animated fantasy film inspired by the works of author Mark Twain – and one scene makes it a very disturbing cartoon, especially for children! The plot follows Twain as he attempts to keep his appointment with Halley’s comment. He’s accompanied by his iconic characters Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, and Becky Thatcher. Eventually the film…

While everyone is going crazy for Stephen King, especially after the massive success of IT, the iconic author has revealed that two of his most popular stories are due for new adaptations; the vampire tale ‘Salem’s Lot and apocalyptic epic The Stand. In a recent interview with Vulture, King said: “There’s talk about doing The Stand as an extended TV series, possibly for Showtime or CBS All Access, and there’s been some interest in developing Salem’s Lot as a feature. Probably because people are saying, ‘Well, we took an old miniseries called It and turned it into a phenomenon, so…

There’s fewer things that clash better together than horror and metal; and the band Slipknot is one that recognizes the potential of said combination. One YouTuber named Adetue also realized the potential of mixing horror with metal, and decidedly performed a cover of Slipknot’s ‘The Devil In I’ while dressed as Pennywise from the latest adaptation of IT. The video also boasts several other nods to IT, such as a baby dressed up as Georgie from the film, yellow raincoat and all. It’s cute but also a little saddening once you remember Georgie’s fate from the film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikweL-m2CFs&feature=youtu.be It’s definitely…

This now makes it the highest-grossing horror film of all time, ahead of The Exorcist which was left at $441 million. The Exorcist was also destroyed by IT domestically, with the adaptation taking in $272 million across the US. Sue Kroll, president of worldwide marketing and distribution at Warner Bros., had this to say about IT’s tremendous success: “Crossing $500 million is rarified air for any film, but…

One of the saddest parts of George Romero’s career is hearing what films he was once attached to before the projects fell through. This included movies like Resident Evil, The Mummy, and now apparently even a Marvel Comics film. And for a hero none other than Copperhead! Bloody-Disgusting received the news, which comes from an exclusive clip for the documentary “Untold Horror”. The film is set to reveal a variety of projects that never got made by iconic horror filmmakers, and thus comes the story of Romero’s Copperhead. There’s finally a winner to the bidding war against studios for the rights to David Cronenberg’s Scanners. It’s just the perfect setup for a TV series in a world where science fiction is endlessly being rebooted and distributed on both television and in theaters. According to Deadline, the film will be…

Bruce Campbell recently did an interview with Aaron Sagers of SYFY Wire regarding his autobiography Hail to the Chin. And he’s given quite a cryptic notion about his iconic character Ash Williams. It all started when Sagers began,“When you hang up that chainsaw for the last time and Ash is gone, you’re moving on…” Campbell soon interrupted him by saying: “Who says I haven’t?” Sagers quickly responded back, “Have you?” and Campbell elaborated a bit more on his cryptic answer. “We finished season three of Ash vs Evil Dead. At the end of that season, it could go anywhere or…

A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger is one of the most iconic villains of all time. And it’s not because he wears a cool mask like Jason Voorhees or Michael Myers. It’s because of actor Robert Englund’s hauntingly comic performance as the Springwood Slasher. And because of his performance, it’s become increasingly difficult for fans to see anyone else in the role. It’s part of the reason why the 2010 remake failed, and it’s been part of endless discussions about who else could possibly do Freddy right. One actor that’s been brought up before, and now apparently Robert Englund…

The days of physical media for film releases is slowly coming to an end. There was once the concept of a video store, a physical location where movies could not only be rented or sold by – but actually specifically made for. But in our day and age this is considered an outdated and obsolete business practice. Most businesses have instead turned toward releasing their films digitally. This includes video on demand services, Amazon, Netflix, and several other varieties of digital release platforms. And while that does sound more convenient and perhaps modern, it does hurt the film industry in…

Although the found footage genre has its fair share of haters, there is one film that seems to have appealed to most horror fans if not just for Mark Duplass’ eerie performance as Josef.
