The strangest thing is happening in Hollywood currently, with director Quentin Tarantino pitching his idea for a Star Trek film. But what’s especially shocking is that it seems to actually be happening – writers are being attached and what would be a shocking first for the franchise is that the film will likely be Rated R. According to Deadline, Tarantino was involved with a writers room setup by JJ Abrams at Paramount. He met with writers Mark L. Smith, Lindsey Beer, Drew Pearce and Megan Amram, where they pitched their ideas around for hours with Tarantino. As of right now,…
There’s been attempts at making a remake based on The Crow for years now, all of which have faded in and out of development until star Jason Momoa was attached to play the lead. Now the film appears to actually be happening – all to the dismay of original The Crow director Alex Proyas. The Crow already received a series of half-hearted sequels and even a television show, and yet Hollywood continues to try and revive the property because of the first film’s strong following. And that’s all the reason why Proyas is disappointed with their attempts. He’s tired of…
The upcoming Venom movie continues to grow more and more interesting with each social media post by the star of the film, Tom Hardy. An alien symbiote that attaches to Peter Parker, Venom eventually moves onto other hosts – most notably Eddie Brock. While usually being portrayed as a villain, Venom sometimes became an anti-hero in his stories; and one can assume he will be in the upcoming solo film as well. Venom was only ever portrayed in live-action form once before, in Sam Raimi’s negatively received Spider-Man 3. As such, Sony has clearly been making sure not to repeat…
With every new Batman installment, The Dark Knight’s outfit has seen a variety of changes. What’s especially special with Affleck’s appearances thus far, however, is that he’s worn multiple outfits per movie. And in Justice League he gets to wear a new tactical suit that offers armored protection without the bulkiness of his mech suit…
While Alien: Covenant tended to focus more on the Xenomorphs than Prometheus did, it seems like Scott wants to move away from them once more with his next Alien film. Ridley Scott recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the Alien: Covenant sequel, where he explains that the franchise will only survive if they trade out the Xenomorphs with artificial intelligence. “We are [going to make another], we are. I think what we have to do is gradually drift away from the alien stuff. People say, ‘You need more alien, you need more face pulling, need more chest bursting,’ so I…
One of the coolest elements of Thor: Ragnarok was Tessa Thompson’s appearance as Valkyrie in the film. But it seems like before Thompson was cast in the film, director Taika Waititi had different ideas for the character. Below you can see a variety of different designs from the film’s concept artist Andy Park. As you can see, the character originally looked nothing like her comic book counterpart. Park explained with the images that Waititi originally wanted Valkyrie to wear a mask, hood, and spiked gauntlets over her hands. Of course once Thompson was cast, however, the design was changed to…
Many DC Comics fans have felt bewildered at the lack of response from Justice League director Joss Whedon who re-shot portions of the film after original director Zack Snyder left after a family tragedy. Since the film’s November 17th release date, he’s done nothing but favorite a few tweets criticizing the appearance of Steppenwolf in the film. Now he’s finally acknowledged his involvement in the film, taking credit for the song which was used in the opening credits. Many fans assumed that the song, Sigrid’s cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Everybody Knows”, was implemented by Zack Snyder up until now. https://twitter.com/joss/status/937676642994065408?s=17…

Because the film is nearly ready to continue moving forward, fans have become enthusiastic to hear more about the project. Luckily, Halloween co-writer Danny McBride was kind enough to talk with The Charleston City Paper and give some more details on the upcoming flick. He explained that the new film will focus on suspense rather than gratuitous violence and gore: “The original is all about tension,” McBride says. “Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee…
After the release of Justice League was met with negative critical and financial results, fans have been wondering more about what could’ve been done to help the film succeed. Many have wondered what would’ve happened if Zack Snyder’s original vision was kept intact – and thanks to Kevin Smith, we have more of an idea of what that could’ve been. According to Smith on his official YouTube channel, he managed to explain more about Darkseid’s cut scenes from Justice League which would’ve occurred just after the resurrection of Superman. While Superman battles with Steppenwolf, he’d be tempted with a vision…
