The latest adaptation of Stephen King’s IT is no doubt one of the biggest horror movies of all time. And everyone is getting in on the hype and having fun – including a certain writer from the likes of The Colbert Report and BuzzFeed. The writer, Jesse McLaren, decided to play around with his sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law’s engagement photos. McLaren was asked to shoot the photos for the occasion, and upon editing them in Photoshop, he managed to sneak in images of Pennywise into all of them. You can see some of the examples in McLaren’s tweet below. My…

Bruce Campbell, lead actor and producer of the STARZ series Ash vs. Evil Dead, is speaking out against those who illegally download the show. The first season premiered in 2015 after fans begged for Ash’s return following the 2013 remake. And the filmmakers truly delivered – giving a series with nods to past films, returning characters and actors, and a lore that expands on elements from the films which fans never even dreamed of getting to learn more about. Unfortunately its popularity is making it a big item for pirates, and it could kill the series. STARZ is actually seriously…

Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare is no doubt a strange film. It’s supposed to be a finale to the franchise started by Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street. However, by this point in the series, “horrifying” was no longer a word that could be used to describe the films. Freddy Krueger quickly became a comedic icon spouting one-liners as fantastically complicated and silly plots carried him from film to film. And Freddy’s Dead is the biggest example of Freddy Krueger’s supposed fall from grace. Most fans consider it the worst of the franchise, an abysmal film with nothing to…

An all-new movie in the vein of Sharknado is on the way, and it might be the biggest of its kind since. It’s all in the title of the film, cleverly (or maybe not so cleverly) titled Snake Outta Compton. It’s a name that just begs for attention, and it works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cutipzb8EjI&feature=youtu.be Honestly I probably don’t even need to give any further information on the film because the name really says it all. It’s about a giant CGI snake of goofily bad proportions that’s probably only in the film for a handful of scenes. But there’s more than just the…

After adding in Halloween’s Michael Myers and Texas Chain Saw Massacre’s Leatherface, Starbreeze Studios is prepping to bring another iconic slasher into the mix – and this one’s the man of your dreams. That’s right, the one and only Freddy Krueger. The developers have released a new trailer that hints pretty strongly about Freddy being added into the game. In fact the hints are so strong they may as well have just blatantly announced his inclusion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oy8zb6pZTWI&feature=youtu.be Unfortunately there’s no other details revealed, such as when Freddy could be added or when the next trailer might be released. There’s also…

The Friday the 13th franchise hasn’t exactly been taken care of the last few decades. While moving from company to company, we’ve been given a handful of half-hearted sequels, crossovers, and attempts to reboot the once almighty slasher series. And all have failed, leaving Friday the 13th a shadow of its former self with a new entry stuck in what seems to be an eternity of development hell. But for those of you who have been patiently waiting for another movie, Womp Stomp Films has you covered with Never Hike Alone. The small company along with director Vincente DiSanti have…

The 1980’s and early 1990’s were an important time for the horror genre. The special effects were at their best, many actors became increasingly more iconic with each appearance, and the films as a whole were brilliant examples of gore and mayhem with just a dash of humor. But somewhere down the line, greedy executives took this as a sign they should start turning these movies into children’s television shows. A few decisions make sense, but some are just a miracle they even exist. And so here are seven cartoons that were inspired by horror movies. 7. Beetlejuice (1989) Beetlejuice…

While Friday the 13th is one of the most beloved horror franchises, several entries happen to be some of the most hated films in the genre. One such entry is Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (also referred to as Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning).  The film had a lot to live up to during its release in 1985. It came out right after the success of 1984’s Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, which to this day is widely considered the best film of the franchise. And so with this film’s reworking of several of the…
