Micro-budget filmmaker and lover of all things horror.

Many film fans have been cynical in regards to the modern moviegoing experience. It seems like actress Jodie Foster is no different, as she goes as far as blaming the entire superhero genre for ruining the modern style of film. According to Foster during a new interview with Telegraph: “Going to the movies has become like a theme park. Studios making bad content in order to appeal to the masses and shareholders is like fracking – you get the best return right now but you wreck the earth.” Foster then decided to target the superhero genre. “It’s ruining the viewing…

There’s plenty of issues with the newest Alien films to have come out over the last few years. They just don’t seem to be capable of capturing the spirit of Alien, which seemed so incredibly new and disturbing in 1979. It’s fair to say this was because of HR Giger, whose work seems to have been forgotten with the likes of Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. His original Xenomorph design is easily one of the best monster concepts in horror and sci-fi. There’s something so robotic and organic about it, it’s hard not to feel uncomfortable looking at it. But before…

Miles Traer, a Stanford University geologist, has created a presentation with two of his colleagues regarding the carbon footprint for nine superheroes. As expected, the presentation shows some disappointing results, and delivers a tongue-in-cheek way of getting people to question their own carbon footprints. This presentation, for example, claims that Iron Man and Batman are actually generating large amounts of CO2 with their technical equipment, literally dooming the environment in their attempts to stop crime. Traer managed to calculate the Batmobile’s CO2 output by comparing it with real world military vehicles, and theorizes it pumps out 48,000 pounds of CO2…

The Disney buyout hasn’t helped matters either, according to the source. “The sequel to Covenant was originally due to start preproduction this month in Sydney. After the box office results filming was canceled, and a warehouse storage unit full of…
