Micro-budget filmmaker and lover of all things horror.

James Wan has certainly made quite a career for himself since 2004, with a series of successes in the horror genre ranging from Saw all the way to The Conjuring. One of his biggest films happened between the two, however, and was a 2010 film entitled Insidious. While the movie was a box office smash, earning over $97 million on a $1.5 million budget, on top of critical praise, I can’t help but be disappointed with the results. It’s even more unfortunate that the film continues to be followed up with more than enough sequels in a time when the…

At a time when comic book movies had become frowned upon, a little movie called Blade had blown away everyone’s expectations. It took a dated and obscure vampire hunting character and totally revamped him for the 1990s – something that took well with audiences and the resulting action and violence was well-received. Because Blade was such a hit, it was followed up by two sequels and even a spin-off television series with an all-new cast. The franchise has since gone silent, however, with the rights now back in Marvel’s hands. As such fans have been curious whether or not they’d…

When the home video release for IT movie was detailed earlier this month, fans were disappointed that there was no mention of an extended director’s cut being included. According to Bloody-Disgusting, they reached out to Muschietti over on Instagram, and asked if the extended cut was still going to be released. “Yes, but in a few months,” Muschietti replied. The cut would include all of the deleted scenes from the…

With the ending of Jason Goes to Hell, however, it was officially revealed that Jason Voorhees would be facing off with New Line’s Freddy Krueger – although it turns out another New Line property was going to be in the mix. And no, it’s not one you’d ever think of crossing over with Freddy and Jason – it was hip hop duo Kid ‘n Play, in what would have been Freddy vs. Jason vs. Kid ‘N Play.…

The upcoming Halloween movie is definitely a highly anticipated one, as it’s been revealed that Jamie Lee Curtis is returning and that it’ll directly pick up after the events of the original – ignoring the sequels entirely. When the Halloween series first started out, Michael Myers was not a muscular brute like in later installments. He was rather slim and shaped like an average person – able to slip in and out of corners and out of sight. As this would suggest, he was only credited as “The Shape”, further crediting his lack of characterization. And now, according to Bloody-Disgusting,…

As production on Sony’s upcoming Venom movie continues, fans have been curious about how faithful Venom’s design will turn out. Without the aid of Spider-Man’s character, it seems confusing how Venom will actually exist, and it’s worried some fans quite a bit. While there hasn’t been any new footage from the film released, we do have a possible look at the 3D model being used for Venom’s appearance – and it’s actually pretty accurate to the character. A creature effects artist named Mikkel Frandsen recently posted a sculpt of Venom onto his website. While it isn’t confirmed that he’s working…

After almost two years of speculation, it’s finally been confirmed. Actor Tom Hardy is indeed involved with Star Wars: The Last Jedi as a stormtrooper in a cameo role. The news was revealed by a Tom Hardy fan account on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bc1cm-enVUC/ Of course it’s still unclear which stormtrooper exactly he appeared as, or if his scene stayed in the film at all. It’s possible that the footage simply ended up on the cutting room floor. Hopefully as time passes his role will be more easily identified! At the very least, with the images that were shared on the account,…
