Micro-budget filmmaker and lover of all things horror.

John Carpenter is one of the biggest legends in the horror genre – and filmmaking in general, for that matter. He helped pioneer the slasher genre with Halloween in 1978, crafted one of action’s greatest anti-heroes with Escape From New York in 1981, and created one of the best remakes of all time with The Thing in 1982. These are only a handful of the accomplishments he made throughout his career. Another rumor is here to add fuel to the fire about Ben Affleck leaving the Batman role behind, and this time it supports earlier stories about Jake Gyllenhaal taking on the mantle. The story comes from Revenge of the Fans, who says Warner Bros. is “sour on Ben Affleck”, and that assuming he leaves, “Jake is in”. This would be an interesting and possibly risky move because the site continues to claim that Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman film will indeed be set in the DCEU. This means whatever Reeves does will still be canon with the other DC films, and…

Platinum Dunes attempted to remake and recreate the success of various horror properties in the early 2000s. The trend left a sour taste in audiences’ mouths, and most of the franchises have remained dormant ever since. Now try and compare their business model with a company called Blumhouse – the largest producer of horror titles right now. The current anthology subgenre of horror owes a lot to Amicus, a production company out of Britain in the 1970s that spawned a lengthy series of gruesome anthology movies. In what could almost be considered an act of coming full circle, a new British anthology horror film called Ghost Stories is being produced, and it certainly looks enticing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6BZo6WiOX0&feature=youtu.be Ghost Stories is co-written, co-directed by, and co-stars Andy Nyman. Nyman plays a skeptical psychologist who investigates ghost sightings. His story acts as a wraparound for the three main segments of the flick. Marvel actor Martin Freeman stars as Mike Priddle,…

The news comes from Reddit user Hufflepuffins, who previously reported that the film would resume shooting in July after the original directors…
