The Muppets is one of the most beloved family-friendly franchises in popular culture. It was developed by Jim Henson, whose son Brian Henson has helped direct and puppeteer various Muppet outings. Now, Brian Henson will be involved with directing a rather non-family friendly puppet movie. In fact, the new red-band trailer for The Happytime Murders is most definitely NSFW. It goes all out with murder, sleazy prostitutes, and extreme drug use – most of which centers around an endless array of puppets. But let’s not forget star Melissa McCarthy who even gets to snort ecstasy through a piece of licorice…

The upcoming Halloween movie coming from Blumhouse not only finished production recently, but even had its first test screenings. While most of the film appears to have done well with its test audiences, there was some concern regarding the ending. Now it appears the film will be undergoing reshoots to repair the damage. According to Bloody-Disgusting: Bloody Disgusting has learned that Green is getting back behind the camera to shoot additional scenes for his Halloween, which slashes into theaters this coming October. Sources tell me that the agenda is to tweak the finale following a recent test screening (without getting into…

The last we heard on the new Masters of the Universe film, David S. Goyer stepped back from directing. His treatment will still be used for the script and he’ll continue to executive produce the movie. Instead Aaron and Adam Nee will direct the film. Of course beyond those technical details and some concept art, we have little idea about what the story will be. However, That Hashtag Show appears to have new info on the movie’s plot and an interesting new twist for Skeletor and He-Man. The two characters will, in fact, be brothers. As they explained, “Our source…

A new Swamp Thing series based stories from on Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson has just been ordered for the upcoming DC streaming service named DC Universe. Interestingly, the series will be produced by The Conjuring and Aquaman director James Wan’s Atomic Monster company. It’s also worth noting that the series was written by Ash vs. Evil Dead writer Mark Verheiden and IT co-writer Gary Dauberman. What a great combination! It’ll be interesting to see how this series will be handled with all of these horror veterans involved in the project. It’s not the first time several genre icons have…

The Castle Rock series coming to Hulu is one of the most anticipated Stephen King projects coming out. What separates it from other adaptations of King’s works is that this actually takes place within King’s story universe. As it was described, it will “combine the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.” The new trailer itself is actually very enticing. The footage really builds the titular Castle Rock up as an eerie, horrifying place. I can’t help but think…

The Conjuring franchise is one that’s relatively new and continues to grow with each passing year. While there’s only four films to the series so far, there are plenty more in production – with The Nun set to premiere this year. While there’s yet to be any official trailers released, a small bit of footage was shown at CinemaCon – with terrifying results. Producer James Wan alongside Director Corin Hardy presented the footage and explained a bit about the film’s production backstory. While the movie is still a large part of the overall Conjuring experience, the influences are a bit…

It’s been truly fascinating to watch The Meg evolve over the course of its production history. While the film is based on a fairly serious novel, titled simply Meg, that seems to be the best way to sum up the connections. The movie obviously takes things in a more extravagant, campier area, with a focus on blockbuster action and thrills. The trailers and promotional material have all taken a self-aware perspective regarding the titular shark. If it’s not making light of how incredibly large it is compared to your average Great White, then it’s making fun of all the helpless…

The internet as well as Evil Dead fanbase has been in an uproar since the cancellation of Ash vs. Evil Dead. While many are fighting to see the show renewed or revived as a Netflix Original Series, it seems increasingly hopeless as time goes on. Ash Williams himself, Bruce Campbell, is even claiming that he’ll be retiring from the role. Big props to fans for the effort, but I’m retired as Ash. #timetofrysomeotherfish https://t.co/Di1aeBV0dl — Bruce Campbell (@GroovyBruce) April 23, 2018 It’s actually a pretty heartbreaking thing to hear. As if the fight has gone out of Bruce to keep…

While Ash vs. Evil Dead is officially cancelled, the series’ fourth season was still being developed up until the official announcement. And, according to a source from Bloody-Disgusting, the new story was going to be huge. Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Bruce Campbell were planning to send Ash into the future apocalypse – something that we only had a taste of in the alternate ending for Army of Darkness. It reportedly would’ve been like a mix between Fallout and Mad Max, with demons and robots alike roaming the wasteland. It’s unfortunate this never happened, because this is personally something I…

One element that makes Blumhouse’s upcoming Halloween movie one of the most anticipated productions of the year, is John Carpenter’s involvement! Carpenter was announced to be executive producing the film and working as a creative consultant from the very beginning. And considering he’s strayed away from the franchise ever since Halloween III: Season of the Witch, it’s become every fan’s dream to see him return to the series. Of course, it also was hinted that Carpenter would be scoring the film as well. He worked on the musical compositions for each of the original three Halloween films, so having him…
