Orion’s upcoming remake of the horror classic Child’s Play continues to both pay its respects to the original movies while also introducing new themes and concepts. The movie strays away from the possessed doll narrative of the original Child’s Play saga, and instead recreates Chucky as a robotic AI gone mad. It’s not the first time a theater decided to play the wrong footage in front of an audience of small, unsuspecting children. But this poor group had no idea what they were in for during their supposed screening of Warner Bros.’ all-new movie Detective Pikachu. The next half of Andy Muschietti’s adaptation of Stephen King’s IT, appropriately titled IT: Chapter 2, is shaping up to be a much more aggressive sequel. It makes sense, given that Pennywise was defeated by a group of kids, and after 27 years in hibernation he has every right to be much more angry and horrific. The horror genre has had some interesting new iconography over the years – two of the biggest contributors being Andy Muschietti’s IT adaptation and the Syfy Channel’s seemingly endless series of Sharknado sequels.
