The Friday the 13th franchise has been struggling to make a resurgence. Fans thought it would finally be happening sooner rather than later with A24’s Crystal Lake series set to premiere on Peacock. The Netflix series Baby Reindeer has been a massive success for the streaming platform. Despite its disturbing subject matter, viewers are quite intrigued by the story which is based on real-life experiences from star and creator, comedian Richard Gadd. The Riddick franchise can be traced all the way back to 2000’s Pitch Black. The film starred Vin Diesel as Richard B. Riddick, a role he reprised for 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick and 2013’s Riddick. Now the next film, Riddick: Furya, is finally set to begin production this summer with Vin Diesel. This was confirmed by director Louis Leterrier. He was born on December 17, 1944, and passed away on May 5, 2024.
