Growing up a film and television fan in the wonderful state of Massachusetts, he grew a strong attachment to personal dramas. Teaming up his fandom for the world of entertainment along with his love of writing was just an all too natural fit for Matt. He can be often found at the local cineplex, eating at the local restaurants or playing basketball at any basketball court across Mass.

Reboots are commonplace in modern Hollywood, with studios looking to revive old-time favorites for new audiences. While they may seem creatively bankrupt on paper, some filmmakers are able to bring new ideas to tried and true projects, like the Andy Serkis Planet of the Apes trilogy and Oscar-winner Mad Max: Fury Road. On the other hand, tired reboots like Hellboy and The Grudge are clearly made to cash in on a brand’s popularity, lacking the filmmaking prowess to stand on their own. While most fixate on Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks when it comes to animated films, Aardman Animations has had a strong run with their unique claymation designs. The studio broke out in a big way with Chicken Run in 2000, which generated glowing reviews on its run to becoming the highest-grossing stop-motion animated film of all time. Aardman has had some successful films since, but their tenure has yet to reach the massive heights of their debut feature. With modern horror films being relatively inexpensive to make, the financial bar of success has been lowered to a far more reasonable level, allowing cult properties to develop into franchises despite niche appeal. Mark Duplass’ Creep films are a strong example of this, developing into a trilogy despite never receiving a theatrical run (the third film is currently in the works). The same can be said for The Collector, which despite its 9 million dollar box office total, the film still spawned a sequel and an upcoming third project The Collected (or Coll3cted) which is now on its way. Fans of the original two films have…

Whether it’s a bombastic action movie like The Meg, a tense real-world experience like Open Water, or a goofy B-movie like the Sharknado series, sharks have been synonymous with thrilling moviegoing experiences. Howard Stern has played an essential role in revolutionizing talk radio, with his successful, long-running program opening up the doors for many of today’s most popular podcasts. Known for his candid delivery and engaging interview style, Stern has become a common fixture in the industry while still remaining relevant today. However, similar to Jimmy Fallon and Mark Wahlberg, the disc jockey is now under fire for past racially-charged behavior, with many re-examining one of his old skits in a new light. Remember that time Howard Stern wore blackface and said the N-word a dozen times? I do pic.twitter.com/s28vrv4qQ7 — PG…

The Sopranos is well-regarded as one of the greatest TV series of all time, with David Chase’s collaboration with HBO leading to the creation of an equally bold and impactful gangster series.
