Just someone with a love for all things media, having grown up with classic British TV and bonkers American film. Currently studying English and Creative Writing at university, with a need to articulate exactly what I think about everything. I ramble at a much more concise level on Twitter.

Initially Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War started out as a huge two-part movie event. This epic story initially intending to close out Phase 4 of the MCU. Initially, the two films were simply named Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2 respectively, and were to be filmed simultaneously across 2017 and 2018. Initial reports claimed for the project to be the largest multi-film production ever, outdoing Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3, as well as The Hobbit trilogy. Some sources even claimed that the budget for both films would be a billion dollars (utter rubbish, but interesting how so…

So Marvel recently invited a whole bunch of news outlets for an “Open House” tour of their headquarters on the Disney lot in Burbank. And indeed they’ve given the press a lot to talk about, with heaps of previously unseen concept art and footage on show. The focus of this article specifically, is that the first glimpse of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel has now been revealed to the press via concept art, and from the sounds of things it’s going to look pretty cool. The general image is that the suit appears to be a more militarized and practical…

The debut of Marvel’s new comic series, X-Men Gold, wasn’t as smooth as the company would have liked. The issue itself was well-received and a solid debut, however the controversy surrounds the art by Ardian Syaf. It can be very easy for reporting on stories such as this to get out of hand, and so it’s important to report only the facts and avoid any unwarranted speculation. With that said, let’s take a look at what all the controversy is about. The first instance people found an issue with, is the text on Colossus’ t-shirt in one panel, reading: “QS…

*Spoiler Alert for the end of Logan* In a format that many people would call reminiscent of HISHE’s own animated shorts, ‘Near Human Intelligence’ have had their own crack at presenting an alternative ending to ‘Logan’. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHCpQyW9GvI&feature=youtu.be The verdict? It’s a pretty good, granted the animation is not quite as polished as something like ‘How it Should’ve Ended’, but for a comparatively much smaller creator, this is pretty darn good. The animation style is decent, and even if the animations themselves are crooked, the way it all comes together works. There’s also the fact that it…

Did anyone expect Batgirl to suddenly become the talk of the comic book movie town? Following on from the, quite frankly, awesome announcement that Joss Whedon is to write, direct and produce a standalone Batgirl film for the DCEU, there’s now rumor of a potential frontrunner to take on the role. The rumor going around is that Lindsey Morgan, of the CW’s ‘The 100’ fame, is going to take on the role. This is a rather unconventional rumor, as in most cases, such news comes from an interview with a specific news source. But this time around, fans have come…

Oh boy! It’s time for the ultimate game of “Will he? Won’t he?” Hugh Jackman made his final turn as the Wolverine earlier this month in ‘Logan’, a beautiful film that was able to act a truly fitting send off for not just the character, but specifically, Hugh Jackman’s iconic version of him. And everyone involved made it absolutely clear that this was definitely, defiantly, the last time Hugh Jackman would take up the claws as Logan… except for the fact that Hugh Jackman has said he would reprise the role if the X Men film rights reverted back to…

A brand-new second trailer has been released for Spider-Man: Homecoming, and…well…a lot of stuff happens in it. Maybe even a bit too much? I feel it’s only fair to give this as a heads-up warning, but the trailer does seem to spell out the main character beats of the film and which order they play out it. And I’d argue it can be seen as quite spoiler-heavy. So, if you wish to see Homecoming completely unspoilt, then I’d say this trailer is a safe skip. That said, for those who don’t really mind and want to see the trailer regardless.…

In brand new news, that’s not really news, but is still kinda news. Avatar 2 has been delayed, and is reportedly not going to meet its 2018 release date. In a recent interview James Cameron stated that: “Well, 2018 is not happening, we haven’t announced a firm release date. What people have to understand is that this is a cadence of releases. So we’re not making Avatar 2. We’re making Avatar 2, 3, 4 and 5. It’s an epic undertaking.” The only question I want to bring up in all of this, do people really want an Avatar sequel? The…

With production on the solo Han Solo film well underway, and all eyes on The Last Jedi for its December 2017 release date and hopefully a trailer sometime soon. It’s easy to forget about Episode 9, the final film of the new sequel trilogy. Well, it appears that we don’t have long to wait until production on Episode 9 goes ahead either. As according to MovieCastingCall.org, the film, to be directed by Colin Trevorrow (of Jurassic World fame), should start filming in July of this year: “Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm in association with PLT Productions and Ram Bergman Productions…

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 has a greatly expanded cast over the first film with character such as Mantis and Ego the Living Planet joining the fray, as well as characters from the first film such as Yondu and Nebula joining the team itself. But perhaps there may have been one more new addition to the film, that was evidently cut out from the film very early on in the process. James Gunn revealed that early on when he was still writing the story treatment, as well as Mantis and Ego, there was a third new character that reportedly had…
