I had a few people over on Halloween night. We roasted marshmallows and talked comics. New images have been officially released from the set of 2017’s Beauty and the Beast, showing Belle (Emma Watson) in the familiar yellow ball gown, and Beast (Dan Stevens) in his regal blue coat. Some things just can’t be unseen. The First Couple of WWE, John Cena and Nikki Bella, took Halloween a step too far. Adhering to the old adage that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the wrestlers decided to dress up as each other. Nikki Cena wasn’t too horrible, but John Bella is the stuff of your most hilarious nightmares. Cosplayers tend to gravitate toward elaborate costumes, often involving makeup, prosthetics, armor, and props to recreate their favorite characters. Since the post-credits scene in Deadpool revealed that the incredibly powerful, time-traveling mutant Cable would be along for the ride in the sequel, we’ve spent the last eight months endlessly speculating who should play him, and how big of a role he might play in the film. Cable is, hands-down, my favorite comic book character. I have a picture in my mind of how he looks, sounds, moves, and thinks. The Walking Dead has a habit of ripping fans’ hearts out, pissing on them, and leaving them for the walkers. But, while the treatment we received last Sunday might have been customary, that makes it no less painful. The deaths of Abraham Ford and Glenn Rhee were absolutely barbaric. YouTube user Stryder HD has made an interesting trailer, titled “Batman: The Great Wall,” in which Bruce Wayne finds adventure on the other side of the world, in China. A peaceful land has been invaded by terrible monsters, as well as a human monster: Bane. Batman must not only protect the citizens, but teach them to protect themselves as well. Reminiscent of films like 47 Ronin, it incorporates history, fantasy, martial arts action, and a pinch of grounded realism together into one film, using footage from Nolan’s trilogy, as well as Lord of the Rings and The Last Samurai. There be Game of Thrones spoilers here! Production recently began on Game of Thrones’ seventh season. Filming is currently taking place in Spain, and photos have emerged showing the much-anticipated meeting between Kit Harrington’s Jon Snow and Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen. Also, video (that you can see below) was posted yesterday on YouTube from the Basque set, showing a confrontation between Snow and Theon Greyjoy.
