Two new photos have been released from the set of Avengers 4. One is a candid shot, featuring Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner / The Hulk), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow), and Robert Downey Jr (Tony Stark / Iron Man). It’s a lovely image, showing the camaraderie that exists among the cast members. A fascinating new rumor suggests that Clint Barton may abandon his Hawkeye alter ego in Avengers 4. If so, he’ll likely do so in favor of a darker, lonelier identity. In the comics, Barton became Ronin after the events of Civil War. He’s a mysterious, sword wielding character. Yes, you read that correctly, a sword. It’s hard to imagine Hawkeye without his signature and arrow, but there’s a very good reason behind the drastic transformation. According to MCUExchange, our favorite snarky sharpshooter will endure an unimaginable loss. Feeling adrift after the tragic event, he will adopt the persona of Ronin -…

Despite its depressing lack of Ron Perlman (or Guillermo del Toro, for that matter), the planned Hellboy reboot, “Rise of the Blood Queen,” is trudging forward. It’s planned to start filming later this month, primarily in England and Bulgaria. We already knew the major casting details: David Harbour is Hellboy; Ian McShane is Professor Broome; Sasha Lane is Alice Monaghan; Penelope Mitchell is Ganeida; and genre veteran Milla Jovovich is Nimue, the titular Blood Queen. Now, thanks to the website My Entertainment World, we know some plot details. Their description states: The film shows us Hellboy traveling to England, where he…

Fans have been hoping for months now that we might see Superman’s iconic black suit show up in the Justice League film – and even Henry Cavill himself has teased it. Now, it looks like our wish might finally come true. A user on Reddit has revealed pictures from Mattel’s latest catalog, highlighting the DCEU tie-in action figures. And what do we have here? The first series shows our heroes in their most familiar forms, but the second includes alternate costumes. Batman (not gonna lie, I don’t see a difference from the first one), Cyborg, Aquaman, and – woohoo! -…

Comic books are well-known for their use of the multiverse concept – a different version of the same character has lived a different life, and therefore made different choices. Sometimes, events conspire to erase the character’s existence entirely, or turn him into an unrecognizable veesion of himself. We see it in Flashpoint, HydraCap, Days of Future Past, and other high-profile storylines. The next multiverse event headed your way is a doozy. Writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo have reunited to bring us “Dark Knights: Metal,” a collection of alternate Caped Crusaders who are anything but heroic. Batman is being…

Don’t count Tom Cruise’s “Mummy” out just yet. While the film may have had a disappointing showing in American theaters, it’s a big success overseas, especially in Asia. The Chinese take alone (where it’s still playing, having just opened a couple weeks ago) is already larger than the entire U.S. gross. Box office believe it or not: Tom Cruise’s THE MUMMY has hit the magic sequelizer number–$400M+ worldwide. China is the #1 market w/ $91M. — Exhibitor Relations (@ERCboxoffice) August 28, 2017 That’s good news for Universal, who were counting on the movie to be the flagship of their “dark…

It looks like Marvel Comics will finally fix one of the biggest mistakes they’ve ever made. Obvious spoilers ahead! We all know that when it comes to comics, there are often multiple timelines. Reality is……….fluid, to put it mildly. But canon is canon, and sadly, it includes the disastrous HydraCap storyline. When it was revealed several months ago that Steve Rogers was, in fact, secretly an agent for the evil organization Hydra – the very entity he’s fought to destroy for decades – the fan backlash was massive, and completely justified. Seriously, who in their right mind thought this was…

Marvel’s next TV show is going to have all kinds of girl power. THR reported today that the upcoming ABC show is going to be “more female skewed,” according to Karim Zreik, the studio’s Senior Vice President of Original Programming. He described the project as “Jessica Jones-esque,” though one would imagine there will likely be less sex and violence than Krysten Ritter engages in on her Netflix show. Speaking at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, Zreik also credited the success of DC’s Wonder Woman film with the rise in female comic readers. He said that Marvel wants to “target everyone,…

As LucasFilm continues to expand the Star Wars universe, they’ve finally settled on one of the franchise’s most popular characters for his own solo film: Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi. It will be interesting to see his take on the massive, effects-laden world of a galaxy far, far away. Any other details are still up in the air at this time. For example, we don’t know at what point in Kenobi’s…

E.T., that creepy little alien who either endeared himself to you or terrified you as a child, turns 35 this year. The Speilberg classic was the highest grossing movie of all time until 1993, when it was replaced by the same director’s Jurassic Park. To commemorate the milestone, the film is getting a theatrical re-release in September. Yahoo Movies spike to actor Robert McNaughton, who played Elliot’s older brother, Michael, in the children’s classic. Surprisingly, he revealed that the script had a different ending from the one that ended up on celluloid. In the movie, Elliot and his friends manage…
