Last time on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s behind-the-scenes material, we took a look at some concept art that was revealed for Mantis and her more green-like appearances. Turns out she wasn’t the only new character that was considered for a comic-accurate appearance. Kurt Russell’s attire for Ego seems to have gone a stage of “comic accuracy” of its own, though we use this term very loosely. The outfit design here, made by Christian Cordella, is much different from the one used in the film. Gone are the beard and cloak that appeared more of a sacred entity and…

Marvel’s marketing promotions for Secret Empire have been making some interesting talk as of late, going from the controversial Hydra shirts to be worn by comic retailers to even the bare bones story of beloved characters like Captain America and Magneto turning into Hydra agents. This next stunt of theirs feels like more a jab of social commentary than the last ones… Politics and comics have decided to collide yet again as Marvel, owning the domain rights of Hail-Hydra.com, now redirects the website to the official .gov website of the White House, particularly to the profile page of our current…

With The Defenders just around the corner, it’ll be no time after that when the heroes will be going their separate ways again. Jessica Jones season two with set photos surfacing, a third season to Daredevil confirmed to happen around late 2018 at its earliest, even Punisher getting his own spin-off series shows a lot going on with the works of the Marvel Netflix branch of universes. However, what does that leave our Power Man himself? Well, something is definitely building up for a continuation of Luke Cage, and it seems that Shades is returning, as actor Theo Rossi made…

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is already skyrocketing with its audiences, and we still have more news coming for behind-the-scenes changes. Some more concept art of the film has been revealed, this time showing a more currently accurate green-skinned make over for a certain character. Mantis is the spotlight this time around, with several redesigns under the belt. While little variety from the others, they were certainly different from the film’s interpretation: Pom Klementieff’s character appears to have a more extra-terrestrial form to her, which while fitting with the mythos of the Guardians, didn’t end up making it to the…

As difficult as it was to believe, but there was a point in time in this world where casting directors wouldn’t believe actor Chris Pratt was made for superhero films. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s Star Lord appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and upon the usual talk show banter, it was revealed him and Colbert were in talking terms back when Pratt auditioned for the role of Superman back in 2006. While Colbert thought he was perfect at the time, Pratt jokingly responded: “The casting director did not agree.” He then talked about his hopes being…

It’s been 20 years since the live-action Spawn movie made its release, and after years of claims and promises, it seems that a reboot is finally going to get somewhere. Image Comics co-founder and creator of the 90’s comic icon Todd McFarlane has revealed that a final draft of the script has been completed the way he wants it. Originally 180 pages, the trimmed 136 seems much more doable for a Hollywood film to be made with. The next step according to McFarlane is to find the right studio to claim the rights, with 14 people in Hollywood already in…

With bits and pieces of the puzzle coming together for the secretive Netflix Marvel team-up, we have no doubt it’ll definitely be a spectacle. And one of the cast members just made sure of that. Talking with EW in a recent interview, Jessica Henwick, who plays Colleen Wing in the upcoming series, expressed her thoughts on the latest ensemble: It’s good, it’s really good. I think people are going to love seeing characters interact with each other, they’re going to see Colleen and Misty, (actress Simone Missick), they’re going to love seeing Luke Cage with the Iron Fist, Danny Rand.…

Marvel Comics launched their latest storyline this week with Secret Empire, which had the Axis powers actually win WWII, and with the Third Reich supreme, it turns out Captain America was part of Nazi’s Hydra branch all along. In means to promote the Secret Empire storyline, Marvel Comics made the “interesting” decision to have comic retailers dress as members of Hydra with their exclusively-designed Hydra shirts. In addition, Marvel has also mentioned converting popular comic news sites and the Marvel app into into a more Hydra-based setting. Definitely not a great outlook – and ultimately a lot of backlash, as…

We, um, got an, ah, bit of news for you. After 20 years since his last appearance in Jurassic Park II: The Lost World, actor Jeff Goldblum is set to return as Ian Malcolm for the latest installment to the Jurassic Park franchise. While the size of the role has yet to be talked about, it’s exciting to see the return of originals from the Jurassic Park films. With Dr. Henry Wu (played by B.D. Wong) being the only character brought back, to have one of the most iconic mains from the first two films can bring audiences into this.…

Looks like The Walking Dead has a new threat outside of walking corpses and a barbed wire bat-wielding Comedian. Enter The Writers Guild of America. The WGA has authorized a strike with an overwhelming 96% approval of their union, with the likes of scheduling, pay and lacking benefits being the factors of this movement. This strike could go into effect within next week if the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers do not meet with their terms. The negotiation committee of the WGA confirmed with the following statement: We thank you for your resolve and your faith in us…
