If you’re unfamiliar with the way things have been going lately, you probably have been living under a rock. Cancel culture is a thing that started by calling people out for takes on subjects that are deemed offensive and at first, an apology for past (or current) wrongdoings would likely be enough to be granted forgiveness. It was basically “callout culture”. Now, cancel culture has evolved into something much more than that, with people going back through years and years of social media posts to find mistakes or bad (sometimes awful) takes that someone may have made, and calling them…

Some very notable Hollywood celebrities including Aaron Paul, Bryce Dallas Howard, Kristen Bell, Debra Messing, Julianne Moore, Justin Theroux and more and have joined forces with the NAACP to create a new Racism PSA called I Take Responsibility. In the video, the celebrities apologize for their own past instances of racism, and vow to do better. The video is part of an impact oriented campaign – that is described as something where influential voices from the white community take responsibility for turning the racist tide in America. A transcript from the video reads: I take responsibility. I take responsibility. I…

If you watch The Flash then you’re very familiar with Hartley Sawyer – as he plays Ralph Dibne AKA Elongated Man on the show. What you might not know, is that similar to many other celebrities that we’ve recently seen this happen to, he tweeted out some offensive things years ago, and someone found the tweets and exposed it all over the internet in an effort to get the actor fired – and it worked, as he’s officially been removed from the show. Hartley Sawyer, you have been exposed… pic.twitter.com/ig5VBXoZmK — Skai Jackson (@skaijackson) June 5, 2020 Following the tweets…

To say that things in the United States are pretty bad right now would be a massive understatement. First, we had the Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent nationwide quarantine, which sent the economy spiraling downward. However, that seems like a thing of the past, as we’re now having lockdowns in certain parts of the country due to rioting – with some places having the National Guard brought in. The riots are not to be confused with the protests, that have been happening due to the death of George Floyd. Either way you look at it, things are pretty divided at the…

2020 has been a pretty terrible year when you take into account all that’s happened. Coronavirus came and had the United States locked down – though it appeared to be headed in the right direction with things starting to open back up. This past week, however, saw protests and riots over the death of George Floyd and it’s gotten so bad that it’s been said the U.S. military is going to get involved. Today has been dubbed #BlackoutTuesday on social media – in support of standing against racism. Actor Seth Rogen posted the message on his Instagram account – and…

If you’ve made any type of mistake on the internet or said the wrong thing (even if it was years ago) there are people out there who will want you gone – even if you apologize. It’s called cancel culture. It appears that cancel culture is going after another member of The Avengers – as we just saw it go after Robert Downey Jr. for his role in Tropic Thunder back in 2008. Scarlet Johannson received it for taking a role playing a Transgender person back in 2018, Chris Hemsworth took some heat for his recent film Extraction being “problematic”,…

When a new Scream movie was announced, many weren’t sure if the cast of the previous movies would be involved. With the way that franchises have been ignoring certain films, though, it would have made sense – considering the recent Halloween movie was a direct sequel to the first film in 1978 and ignored the other 300 sequels that followed completely (other franchises that have done this include Terminator and Candyman). With a franchise as successful as Scream was in the 90’s – you knew something new was coming. And it looks like Scream 5 (if they even call it…

Tropic Thunder came out back in 2008, and was met with near universal acclaim. The film received wonderful reviews and was a hit at the box office. Robert Downey Jr. was even nominated for an Oscar for his performance in which he played the dude – playing a dude – disguised as another dude. Well, in 2020, the past is often brought back in attempts to “cancel” certain people for their past wrongdoings, and apparently some believe that the actor should be “cancelled” for playing this role nearly 12 years ago. wtf robert downey jr did blackface????????????? >:(((( i cannot…

While it’s not exactly a surprise, many were still hopeful that the show could actually go on, but that won’t be the case. The event was scheduled to take place from July 23rd – 26th. A statement on the Comic-Con website reads: For the first time in its 50-year history San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC), the organizers behind the annual pop culture celebration, announced today with deep regret that there will be no Comic-Con in 2020. The event will instead return to the San Diego Convention…

Anyone who has listened to rock/metal since the early 2000’s has undoubtedly heard the band TRAPT at some point in their lives. They sing that song “Headstrong” and had a few other big rock radio hits after that with songs like “Still Frame”, “Echo” and “Stand Up”. They’ve managed to make their way back to the center of the music news cycle over the past month – but the reason that has happened isn’t exactly because of their music. The singer, Chris Taylor Brown, has been on a massive Twitter war with seemingly everyone who will reply to him -…
