Rumors circulated last week about George Miller possibly directing Man of Steel 2. Well, apparently, WB has put the sequel on a “permanent hold” according to DenOfGeek: We’ve since heard from two sources that there might be substance to this rumor. They tell us that Miller is indeed in talks with Warner Bros. about the possibility of taking on one of its future DC movies, though exactly what that movie is hasn’t been decided as yet. Even though GROOT only has a handful of lines (well, not even a handful) Vin Diesel has been confirmed by James Gunn to be returning for the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. In a recent threat of comments on Gunn’s Facebook page, he confirmed as much: On the outside, it seems like this would be an obvious re-cast – but with the way that GOTG ended, it could have been up in the air. According to The Daily Mail, the director of Star Wars: Rogue One, Gareth Edwards, is planning to create an entirely CGI version of Peter Cushing’s Grand Moff Tarkin. As you all may know, Cushing passed away in 1994 – but that might not stop him from reprising the role. There haven’t been any details as to how the character will fit into the plot of the movie but the source does say that “it’s a significant role” and one of the “most complex and costly CGI re-creations ever”. Conceptual artist Steve Jung was one of the many artists that 20th Century Fox brought into to work on the Fantastic Four reboot. Over the weekend, Jeremy Renner was a featured guest at Wizard World Chicago – he was the main event and had a big panel. During the panel, Renner took questions from the crowd.
