The co-creator of Judge Dredd, John Wagner – has announced that he plans to kill off a major character in 2000AD. Here’s what he had to say about it in a recent 2000 AD Thrill-Cast podcast: “I’m about to kill an important 2000 AD character, but I don’t normally do that anymore,” he said. He added: “I’ve learnt my lesson about killing popular characters,” he added, referencing the killing off of Johnny Alpha in Strontium Dog in 1989. “But one is going soon – I’m not going to say who – but watch out.” You can check out the rest…

SPAWN Creator Todd McFarlane has talked about doing a new film based on the character for quite some time – but it now seems like it’s actually moving forward, as he has teased a completed 132 page script that he plans on sending off to Hollywood for feedback soon. I had originally suggested that we try to get Amazon to make a Dredd series but the overwhelming response was that the general Dredd fan base prefers Netflix – so here you go. We’ve already seen shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones do well – and Deadpool which was rated-R, so there’s definitely an audience for this kind of stuff. A 2000AD Universe has unlimited potential, so if you want to see a Dredd Netflix series – Go here and tell them you want more DREDD!

While doing an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ben Affleck was asked about his sidekick – Robin. Here’s what he had to say: He’s bitterly disappointed in the past that he’s lost this guy who fought by his side. That character’s death must have been devastating to him, and he’s suffered. With the recent news that Amazon is reviving The Tick (without the main star, however) this got us thinking. Why not a DREDD series? The Tick wasn’t really a success at all ratings wise but developed a cult following over the years – sort of like Dredd. Netflix already has Marvel and there are rumors that HBO will be developing a Watchmen TV series – so this makes more sense than you might think. Believe it or not, there was a time before the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was an awful period of time for some of these characters – that were butchered completely. We didn’t really count the films made before the 2000 X-Men film and also felt that FOX redeemed themselves for X-Men Origins: Wolverine with Deadpool.
