There has been quite a bit of controversy in Hollywood lately – with many claiming that rather than casting minority actors/actresses for minority roles, studios just ‘whitewash’ them instead. When Scarlett Johansson was cast in the upcoming Ghost In The Shell film, that criticism was no different. There were even reports (that were denied by the studio) that CGI enhancements were made to make the actress appear to be ‘more Asian’. Well, now, Johansson has decided to speak out on the whitewashing claims, saying the following: “I certainly would never presume to play another race of a person. Diversity is…

A new synopsis has been revealed for the upcoming Justice League movie. The synopsis is as follows (easier to read version below the picture): For those who can’t really see: In the wake of Clark Kent/Superman’s (Cavill) death at the hands of Doomsday in BvS, vigilante Bruce Wayne/Batman (Affleck) reevaluates his extreme methods and begins reaching out to extraordinary heroes to assemble a team of crime-fighters to defend earth from all kinds of threats. Together with Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gadot), Batman seeks out cybernetically enhanced former college football star Vic Stone/Cyborg (Fisher), speedster Barry Allen/The Flash (Miller) and Atlantean warrior…

When Ben Affleck announced he wouldn’t be directing the upcoming solo Batman film, the internet (for a lack of a better term) completely lost its mind. Personally, I think the move makes sense. While Affleck is a great director, there’s no need for him to direct a film that he’s not comfortable directing – especially when its something as important as Batman. They can still get a solid director – and it’ll turn out fine. The latest report from Forbes suggests that the film will be pushed to 2019 – and is getting a new script: “How extensive the process…

It has been quite the week/month for The DCEU. With rumors that there are problems with things behind the scenes (I’m looking at you Warner Bros.) many are wondering just how Justice League will turn out. Personally, I think it’ll turn out great, but you know, I’m not the entire internet. Zack Snyder does have a pretty solid fan base, however, as that was seen last week, when a petition was created for him to direct The Batman – and that was met with mixed reception. One thing I’m sure we can all agree on, however, is Snyder has made some…

To say that Zack Snyder’s direction on Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice didn’t have fans and critics divided – would be a lie. That’s not to say that some don’t enjoy his direction, as a petition was recently started by our very own Jennifer Huneycutt asking for the director to helm the upcoming solo Batman movie. The petition got a lot of traction, gaining over 5,000+ signatures. Well, it seems that Snyder has another fan coming from an unlikely place (or so it would seem). Steven DeKnight, show runner of Daredevil, stuck up for the…

Kevin Owens vs. Bill Goldberg is happening at WWE’s Fastlane PPV whether you like it or not. Despite being a part timer who will probably leave the wrestling business for good in the coming months, Goldberg will most definitely be winning the Universal Title from Kevin Owens and defending it against Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania. In preparation for the upcoming match, WWE posted the following graphic: https://twitter.com/WWE/status/828804725059391488 Kevin Owens quickly responded with the following: https://twitter.com/FightOwensFight/status/828830882790154241?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw The current thought among the WWE Universe (and my own) is that Owens will lose the belt to Goldberg, and that seems to be angering…

One of the most popular trends in the movie world right now is comic book movies based around heroes with super powers. Each of the main characters, from Superman and Spider-Man to Wolverine, has his own powers that differentiate him while helping the audience to understand something about him and retain an interest in his adventures. Indeed, sometimes when watching these films it is hard not to feel that these powers could be useful to us in everyday life. Superman – The Power of Flight Perhaps the most iconic superhero of them all is Superman, created by DC Comics, who…

Woooo! Is what Ric Flair can normally be seen saying. This circumstance, though, didn’t call for it. There are always quite a few Super Bowls that push the traditional ‘boundaries’ of network television. The goal of a commercial is to bring people to a certain product and get people talking but a commercial featuring Ric Flair. Check out the video and reasoning for the ban below: https://twitter.com/RicFlairNatrBoy/status/828055701180268545?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkRJdDZtJQI&feature=youtu.be ‘Performance enhancing deals’. Well, okay. What did you think of the commercial? Do you think it deserved to be banned? Be sure to tell us your thoughts on the matter below!

Late last year, there was some speculation that Eiza Gonzalez could be playing Catwoman just from connecting some dots on social media. Well, another actor has added herself to the list of actresses that could be playing Catwoman for The DCEU – sort of. Haley Bennett (Magnificent Seven) posted a picture on her instagram that is sure to get people speculating about what it just might mean. Well, this next one has already gotten fans speculating – even though it’s short and straight to the point – with no text: https://www.instagram.com/p/BP8M_sgBzJH/ Who knows what it might mean – as sometimes, actors…

Back in the day, of oh, you know, 2003 – as a 13 year old, I signed up for an IMDb account. Given I was pretty immature back then and would have been called a troll – IMDb (in addition to Rotten Tomatoes) was the site that really opened up the film world to me. Long before it was popular, I’d always check the rating of a film before watching or read the boards of a show that I was wondering about or get an update on the status of a film that I was looking forward to. As a long…
