Comic artist Frank Miller is no stranger to voicing his opinions on certain comic book movies. Sometimes they can come across as him being a bit of a dick, but his comments on Wonder Woman and Spider-Man: Homecoming may surprise a few people. In a recent interview with Deadline, he spoke about both films. Here’s what he said about Wonder Woman: “This has been the best period for superhero movies we ever had. I mean there was that wonderful sunburst of the first Christopher Reeves Superman movie. That was just a ray of sunshine. We’ve had ups and downs over…

One of the most anticipated upcoming events is Marvel’s upcoming Netflix superhero team up series ‘The Defenders’. The first two shows, Marvel’s Daredevil and Marvel’s Jessica Jones, were universally praised, while Luke Cage and more notably Iron Fist didn’t do as well. The first reviews for the show are in, and they’re mixed to mostly positive. Collider: There’s just not enough of it to start, and it takes too long for them to team-up. If you thought Defenders would be a culminating chapter to the other Netflix Marvel series so far, think again. So far it feels like another prelude,…

It was announced over the weekend that Todd McFarlane’s SPAWN reboot was finally going to happen, and that it was going to be a low budget R-Rated horror film. Now, it appears that McFarlane wrote the script with a very specific actor in mind: “There are two big roles in the script,” he added. “There’s obviously sort of Spawn himself, although in a weird way it’s not the biggest role, and then there’s the cop. The cop is this character Twitch who’s been there since issue #1. Twitch is the role in this one, and I sort of refer to…

In a time where literally every single thing is offensive, it should come as no surprise to you that Christopher Nolan’s latest film, Dunkirk, is now being criticized for a lack of gender and racial diversity. A review from USA Today’s Brian Truitt, which is a mostly positive review, actually said the following: “…the fact that there are only a couple of women and no lead actors of color may rub some the wrong way.” Because you know, forget history. Twitter hasn’t held back on Truitt’s comment: History is racist @briantruitt pic.twitter.com/Ml7oNHV5Z2 — St. Frexit (@SlFrexit) July 21, 2017 Did…

Back in 2015, while doing press for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Robert Downey Jr. did an interview with Krishnan Guru-Murthy, who has a pretty bad reputation for being quite annoying during interviews. What started off as a standard interview, randomly turned into a very uncomfortable one, in which the interviewer was asking RDJ some pretty negative questions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALBwaO-rAsE When asked about the interview by Howard Stern later that year, the actor opened up quite a bit: “I’m one of those guys where I’m always kind of assuming the social decorum is in play and that we’re promoting a superhero movie, a…

As you all probably already know, Marvel is very, very clever with their Easter Eggs. And as you also may very well know, fans are very, very clever with finding said Easter eggs. Well, some pretty unexpected ones were spotted in the most recent Thor: Ragnarok trailer – in the form of Beta Ray Bill, Man-Thing, Ares, and Bi-Beast! Fans have asked for Beta Ray Bill for some time now, so at least he theoretically exists in the MCU. Man-Thing was last seen in his 2005 solo movie – and I use the term ‘seen’ lightly, as no one really…

As we all know, someone is going to die in Avengers: Infinity War. How many people that may be or who – is unknown at this point. There has been speculation upon speculation, but nothing concrete. Director of the film, Joe Russo, had the following to say about that topic, while speaking to MTV: “My brother [Anthony Russo] and I believe in stakes. I believe that everything has to have an end at some point in order for it to have value. The audience should be prepared.” Kevin Feige added: “It’ll be emotional for a lot of different reasons. As…

The Room’s Tommy Wiseau was in the news quite a bit this past week, as James Franco is playing the actor in an upcoming film called The Disaster Artist. What you might be unaware of, however, is that there was a documentary made about The Room’s Tommy Wiseau called Room Full of Spoons. Apparently, Wiseau isn’t too happy about the documentary being out there or being screened. Back in September, The Sydney Underground Film Festival learned that the hard way, after a series of threatening legal letters from Wiseau’s legal camp. The festival had this to say: If we did…

When it was announced that Zack Snyder was stepping down from Justice League amid a family tragedy, most thought that interim director Joss Whedon wouldn’t really have much of an impact on what was an already basically finished film. Well, Whedon’s impact on the film is much more than initially thought, according to Warner Bros. YouTube channel, which credits the film as the following: “A film by Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher” So, it’s a film by Zack Snyder AND Joss Whedon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpJgkniSCks Once the film…

After it was reported that Warner Bros. planned to “usher Ben Affleck out of the role of Batman”, fans rejoiced everywhere when the actor put it to rest – and was very upfront about it at the San Diego Comic Con Justice League panel: “Let me be clear,” said Affleck. “Batman is the greatest f–king part in the world. I am thrilled to do it.” Afterwards, he went a little more in depth with EW, beginning with why he left the director’s chair for ‘The Batman’: “Trying to do that, and direct, would probably be too much. Something would be compromised. I think…
