X-Men: Dark Phoenix really had a terrible uphill climb in front of it from the get go. Not that it wasn’t really the studio’s own doing, though. Hiring Simon Kinberg to direct the story that he had already butchered once before as a writer as their first mistake. Also, coming off the heels of the dismal X-Men: Apocalypse and Disney buying out Fox, fans had pretty much already checked out of the franchise. They had visions of what the X-Men could really be in the hand of Marvel Studios. So, is it really that much of a shock to see…

In the modern age of Hollywood, it can be hard to know where the ‘line of responsibility’ is exactly. While you want to not promote bad behaviors to the fans, you also want to create an accurate story, especially when it takes place in a historical period when said ‘bad behaviors’ were considered a norm at that time. It’s an incredibly fine line to tread, and it’s one that still is a major point of contention. Now, hot on the heels of the third season to the nostalgia filled mega hit series, Stranger Things, an anti-tobacco group has taken issue…
There are very few dream matches in Sports Entertainment that haven’t happened. In fact, unless you go to wrestlers of different generations, which is an impossibility, there is really only one match that never happened, but has been talked about for 30 plus years. I’m talking about Sting vs. The Undertaker. During the Monday Night Wars, no two wrestlers embodied their parent company more than these two icons. Sting was Mr. WCW, never wavering from the Turner owned company. ‘Taker was the foundation of WWE. The Deadman was, and still is, one of the greatest of all time. But, what…
DC/WB is is looking to restructure their cinematic universe after the less than optimal returns from the fan-monikered ‘Snyder-verse’. Looking to move away somewhat from the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s format, they plan to focus on individual stories in their own realm, not necessarily connected. One of the upcoming stand alone films will be DC stalwart, and the superhero with the most versions done on the big screen, Batman. Matt Reeves is writing and directing the film with Robert Pattinson cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman. And, recent rumors have a plethora of villains from his rogues gallery taking their shot at the…
Okay, so where to begin with this one. In the world of geeks, nerds, and fandom, there are times when a bizarre story pops up that is confusing and downright upsetting. It is moments like this that make me weep for society as a whole. Now, the people involved in this are a very small portion of our culture, but it is their actions that define us as a whole to everyone on the outside looking in. So, where to begin… Well, this story starts with an ‘entrepreneur’ who knows her customer base, and exploits it to a tee… There…
Spider-Man: Far From Home is crushing it in it’s first week at the box office. The epilogue to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ‘Infinity Saga’ and the prologue to Phase 4, the film is really resonating with fans. It is great fun and exactly what you would expect from a good Spider-Man movie. It also gives a unique perspective on the events that transpired in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Whilst the official MCU name for the ‘snap’ is the ‘Decimation’, normal people in this world have their own name for it. SLIGHT SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME! The…
Fans are really loving Spider-Man: Far From Home. It’s breaking box office records and has people excited over the epilogue to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ‘Infinity Saga’ as well what the future of the MCU has in store. Lots of revelations came out from the fallout of Avengers: Endgame, some of them being things we didn’t even really consider. Life on Earth after such drastic and tumultuous events on a global scale are not easy to move on from. But, even with half of the universe reappearing after 5 years, not everyone survived. MINOR SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME!…
Black Widow will be the first film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4. While many feel it’s a little odd to have a deceased character’s solo film be the first film of the future, fans are excited to see just what is in store in this prequel film which is said to have major implications for the MCU. But, the point of contention at the moment is when does this prequel exactly take place? With Marvel keeping details under wraps, it is only pure conjecture at the moment. Many people believe that this film would be an origin story,…
While we are in the age of superhero films, and many of the biggest movies coming out are action based, there is one film that is eagerly anticipated by people all over the world. I’m talking, of course, about the long awaited third film of the best air guitar playing duo in history, Bill & Ted Face the Music. We’re finally going to get to see what everyone’s favorites ‘dudes’ have been up to since the end of Bogus Journey. And, now, we’re getting to see…
Disney has gone full bore with the live action adaptations of their classic animated films. Maleficent, Aladdin, Dumbo, and The Lion King are just some of the films that have been adapted. There are so many more down the pipeline as well. One of those films is The Little Mermaid. The beloved classic is getting it’s live action treatment, and the lead role of Ariel has finally been cast. Halle Bailey, of the R&B group, ChloexHalle, and of Grown-ish, has be cast as the titular mermaid. The young singer/actress is said to be the perfect fit by director, Rob Marshall,…
