2016 couldn’t end fast enough with all the bad news in politics, celebrity deaths, and just world events in general. As 2017 is shaping up to be another year filled with comic book films like, Logan, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, and Justice League (breath that all in), it’s a good idea to be reminded of the comic book films released this year. With that being said, let’s take a look and rank these films from worst to best and see what you think. We’ll start with the worst and make our way…

It’s with great sadness (not from just this writer but from so many others) that Carrie Fisher has passed away. After landing she was was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead. A musical (remember those?) has been released at the tail end of the year and has dazzled its audience. Damien Chazelle came on the scene a couple of years back with ‘Whiplash’, and moviegoers have been eagerly waiting for his next project since the previous film’s ending credits started to role. With this film seen as a risk because of the genre it’s set in, this could’ve been a big misstep for the young writer/director. And I’m happy to say that it wasn’t. La La Land’s plot revolves around the love between Mia (Stone) and Sebastian (Gosling) and the struggles…
“I am one with the force. The force is one with me.” The wait is over and the time has finally come upon us; Rouge One is here. Last year saw the start of the new Star Wars era with The Force Awakens and LucasFilms/Disney is keeping their promise by releasing a new Star Wars film once a year. Since this film focuses more on the rebellion side of this universe and less on the Jedi aspect that we know and love, many people were nervous that this film wouldn’t be a smash hit without that part. Well, nothing to…
Rouge One: A Star Wars Story is so close that we can feel the heat coming off of the blasters firing overhead. So, to welcome the second installment in the new Star Wars era, I decided to revisit the classic film that started it all with a critical eye and not the fanboy mindset that I have had since I can remember watching the movie when I was a 5 years old. Now before we begin, the version that I will be reviewing is the 2006 DVD version that featured many altered scenes. I would love to have watched the…

So why not get in the festive mood, get the family together around a warm fire and watch this absolute classic. It’s a film that I’ve seen at least 20 times and one that I’ll never grow bored of. It’s arguably one…
Someone please explain to me how James Gunn can take characters from a Marvel comic, that non fans knew almost nothing about, make them to characters that we love in a Marvel film, and then come back two years later to make us love them even more? I mean, this trailer screams fun all over again. The trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 finally dropped onto the web and it looks like another hit out of the park for the MCU. The crew of The Milano is back and are the a-holes the universe needs to save itself…
Alright anime fans, the live action Fullmetal Alchemist trailer has finally dropped and it’s just the right amount of taste to wet your whistle. The trailer for the adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s manga gives us a glimpse of the world of the series. There are a few landscape shots, some alchemy and of course, the transmutation circles that fans will instantly recognize. We don’t get a clear look at Ryosuke Yamda, who plays Edward Elric, but you do see that iconic blonde hair, red jacket , and him doing his thing as he’s about to perform some serious bad ass…
Dave Chappelle came back to television in spectacular form with this week’s SNL and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Last night, Dave Chappelle took the stage in the show’s opening monologue and gave us quite a lot of things to laugh at in today’s current events. SNL has always been known for having hit or miss sketches but with when the writers decided to spoof ‘The Walking Dead’, with the power of Negan’s bat ‘Lucielle’, the skit was knocked out of the park. Chappelle came out in full Negan get-up and played “that” memorable scene from the…
