This MCU Spider-Man franchise has introduced us to some villans we haven’t seen in live-action yet. Homecoming had Vulture, Shocker, Tinkerer, and Scorpion. And Spider-Man: Far From Home had Mysterio, the Elementals, and possibly Chameleon. Those Elementals were based on Molten Man, Hydro-Man, and Sandman. Out of those, we only saw Sandman previously. Oscar season is approaching. And this year, Disney is pushing some of their biggest hits for the Academy to consider. Among those are Avengers: Endgame, Aladdin, The Lion King, Toy Story 4, and Frozen 2. For their Marvel piece, they offered the film for Best Picture, the Russo Brothers for Best Directors, and Markus and McFeely for Best Adapted Screenplay. It was funny how Tony Stark spent the first half of Avengers: Endgame mourning Peter Parker. And then in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter spent the movie mourning Tony. The MCU story of Spider-Man is obviously different than what we saw in the movies before. Since he lives in a world with the Avengers, Spidey looks up to Iron Man instead of Uncle Ben. Fans have been clamoring for a Snyder Cut of the failed Justice League movie for a while now. When the director of Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, Zack Snyder, left his third installment, he was replaced by Joss Whedon. Disney Plus has launched. And with that, we will see shows that exist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But not only will they co-habit alongside the movies, the characters will jump between the big and smalls screens. This was something that Marvel Television couldn’t do. I remember watching the first MCU film in theaters. The end of Iron Man was so epic. At the press conference, Terrance Howard’s Rhodey gave him a script. But at the last moment, Stark decided to reveal that he was the one in the armor. And so, his iconic, “I am Iron Man,” replaced the distorted lyric from Black Sabbath’s song of the same name. Upon Phase Four of the MCU, the movies will be coupled with shows on Disney Plus. Marvel had shows before that we thought were part of the MCU. But recently, it was deemed that Marvel Television lived in a realm of their own. They were probably cast out in lieu of these Disney Plus shows. Phase Four of the MCU will kick-off next year. It will have two movies, and one limited series on Disney Plus. Those will be Black Widow, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Eternals.
