Ben Affleck has had a tumultuous run as the Caped Crusader in the DCEU, ever since he first appeared in the polarizing Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Meant to have a long run as Batman, Affleck ended up only appearing in two films (three if you count the Snyder Cut as a separate entity as well). His planned solo film fell to the wayside and eventually evolved into the new iteration that will be Matt Reeves’ The Batman with Robert Pattinson. However, fans of Batfleck rejoiced when the news broke that the actor would be returning to the iconic role for The Flash film.
Continuing the roller coaster that is Affleck’s life as Batman, it looks like the ‘comeback’ may be short lived, and short in and of itself in the movie.
Affleck only filmed on The Flash for like a week, are people really still pushing he is more than an extended cameo? pic.twitter.com/B4aOXobZNR

According to blogger KC Walsh, Ben Affleck was only on set of the solo speedster film for just under a week, meaning that his appearance in the movie will be nothing more than a short cameo. In other words, it looks like this will be Affleck’s last run as Batman and is not the comeback that some fans have begged for recently. However, this news hasn’t stopped these fans from trying to make Affleck’s solo film a reality, hoping to capture lightning in a bottle once again like they did with the Snyder Cut campaign. If this scoop is to be believed, it would seem that Affleck is most likely using this cameo as his swan’s song for the role.
It should be noted that producer Barbara Muschietti has previously teased that Affleck is in a great place now with the role and having fun with his part. So the cameo may actually end up being a light hearted one. Also, with the return of Michael Keaton to the cape and cowl after 30 plus years, and rumors of his return leading to even more appearances, it would seem that Affleck’s tenure as the World’s Greatest Detective is coming to a true end.
