Netflix is currently hard at work with producing a variety of projects based on the works of Mark Millar. One such project, titled Jupiter’s Legacy, is on the way – and Netflix has released the first official trailer as a result. The new superhero series is based on the 2013 comic written by Mark Miller with art by Frank Quitely.
The comic itself was already quite the epic story, with the new Netflix series set to tackle the same heightened scope. In fact, Millar has already described the upcoming series as “part-2001, part-Avengers, part-Godfather II.” With comparisons like those, it’s hard not to be excited. As such, it’s definitely worth checking out the new trailer for Jupiter’s Legacy down below.

It’s definitely an epic looking series, and the trailer really teases that aspect. With the understanding that Netflix is going to be working on a multitude of other Millar adaptations as well is also exciting. As for the more specific plot of the show…
“The first generation of superheroes have kept the world safe for nearly a century. Now their children must live up to their legacy in an epic drama that spans decades and navigates the dynamics of family, power and loyalty.”
Josh Duhamel will play Sheldon Sampson, aka The Utopian. He launches the superhero team known as The Union. Meanwhile, Ben Daniels plays Sheldon Sampson’s older brother, Walter. This character becomes Brainwave and possesses psychic powers. The rest of the cast for the upcoming series includes Leslie Bibb, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade, and Matt Lanter.
Steven S. DeKnight, known for his work on another popular Netflix superhero series – Daredevil – is adapting the new Jupiter’s Legacy series. He will be serving as both showrunner and executive producer on the show, and he’s also directed the first episode.
Jupiter’s Legacy is scheduled to hit Netflix later next month on May 7, 2021.
