One of the best parts of 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine was Liev Schreiber’s villainous turn as Victor Creed, AKA Sabretooth, something which me be seeing again in next years swan-song, Wolverine 3.
While on the red carpet of last nights Academy Awards, the Spotlight actor was asked by MTV reporter, Jason Horowitz whether he would have any involvement in the upcoming film to which he explained that he and Hugh Jackman have in fact ‘talked about it’ before going onto explain:
“I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me, The Old Man Logan story — that’s appealing. That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word.”
It should be noted that this isn’t the first time the actor has hinted at his involvement. Back in August last year he tweeted Hugh Jackman in response to his training routine for the film asking ‘do I have to do that…’. Perhaps we may be seeing the two characters face off one last time after all.
It’s also interesting that this seems to be further proof that the film will in fact be an adaption of Mark Millar’s acclaimed run Old Man Logan. What role he will be playing remains to be seen, given that the character only appeared in an illusion created by Mysterio in the original comic. Perhaps he could be taking the place of the Hulk in the original story.
What do you think? Would you like to see Schreiber reprise the role? How do you see his character fitting into the film? Let us know below!
