While villains tend to be a one-and-done type of thing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a smidgen of exceptions, the heroes introduced tend to be around for quite some time. Even minor characters, like Wong in Doctor Strange typically find themselves returning for multiple appearances. This was true for Thor’s friends as well, The Warriors Three. But they met their end in Thor: Ragnarok at the hands of Hela. There was one of their brood noticeably absent, though, as well as nowhere to be found during Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame. I am talking about Jaimie Alexander’s Lady Sif. After appearing in the first two solo films for the God of Thunder, and an appearance in the not-quite-MCU-adjacent Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Sif vanished from our screens. Now, a new report suggests that Sif is finally ready to return in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Deadline is reporting that Jaimie Alexander is set to reprise her role as Sif in the upcoming fourth solo Thor installment, Thor: Love and Thunder. When the film is released in May of 2022, it would have been eight years since Lady Sif was on the big screen. But we did see her on our televisions five years ago, and we may see here there again this year. The report also states that Alexander may also have a cameo in the Loki Disney Plus series set for this year.

While it will be great to see Sif again in the MCU, it will be interesting to see how they explain her long absence. Alexander was meant to return for Ragnarok, however scheduling conflicts with her show, Blindspot, kept her out of the film. This may have been for the best, as she might have died as well, just as her compadres did. Now, we will get to see this warrior fight once again and we may even get more of the love triangle teased in the first film once Jane Foster wields Mjolnir and the power of the Gods. Or, as Alexander has already expressed interest in this, she may very well become Valkyrie’s Queen for New Asgard…
