The first look at The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, the next film in the popular horror franchise, has officially been unveiled by Warner Bros. While we still have some time to wait before we get an official trailer for the upcoming horror film, there’s a nice little preview on a newly released featurette titled Faith & Fear: The Conjuring Universe Behind the Scenes. In the video, you’ll be able to see actual footage from the set of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, aka The Conjuring 3.
Filmmaker James Wan, who directed The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2, had this to say about the new film which he’ll be producing:
“I really wanted The Conjuring 3 to get away from the whole haunted house set-up of the first two Conjuring films. It should be more on a whole different level, something that we’ve never explored before in the Conjuring world.”
It appears that this new film won’t take place in a haunted house, but rather follow the events of a particularly famous court case. The case is notable for having been the first time that demonic possession was used as a reason for committing murder in a court of law.
“The trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, this was an internationally-renowned case,” revealed actress Vera Farmiga who plays Lorraine Warren.
Meanwhile, her co-star actor Patrick Wilson who plays Ed Warren, had this to say:
“You’re in for a much different ride than you’ve been on in other Conjuring films.”

The next film in the franchise, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, was directed by Michael Chaves, who previously directed The Curse of La Llorona.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will be returning as main characters Ed and Lorraine Warren, with newcomers Ruairi O’Connor, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Julian Hilliard joining the cast.
