The Boys are back in town! The Amazon Original series has been a huge hit on the streaming service and fans of the program have been waiting for season two to drop. A trailer was released some time ago that displayed The Boys trying to survive from the pursuit of the authorities and the psycho “heroes” of the Vought International. The blood and action-packed season showed a lot of promise and revealed a taste of what is to come for fans of the comic – and also to those that have never picked up a single issue to find out why his Dynamite comic book was such a success.
It appears that a third season of The Boys has already been greenlit for production before the second season has even premiered.
During the panel at this year’s Comic-Con At Home, Executive Producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg made a surprise appearance during the event. While talking to comedian and moderator Aisha Tyler, here is what the Rogen had to say:
“Because this show has fans and it is watched by people like you, they have decided to renew it. So, if you like The Boys, you’ve got more of it. Thank God.”
Surprisingly, here is what Goldberg had to so about the two’s luck of continuing a show:
“We never know if things we made keep moving forward or just get shut down.”
However, no production date for season three has not been marked down on anyone’s calendar. Here’s Rogen’s take on that:
“Not exactly, when can we film season three is anyone’s guess. Hope sometime this decade.”
Goldberg’s two cents on the matter:
“We don’t know where and we don’t know when.”
Rogen, who is always able to crack a joke when needed, could not help but comment on how our current pandemic could affect a certain look for some of the characters.
“Don’t be surprised if you see a lot of superheroes in what are essentially hermetically sealed outfits that do not allow any of their breath to interact with anyone else’s breath. It’s just a wardrobe choice that has nothing to do with the current climate. But thank you so much. We appreciate it and we hope you enjoy the third season as much as you are about to enjoy the second season.”
There you have it. You can expect more from The Boys even after you’ve binge-watched the second season in one sitting.
