Deadpool was originally projected to make $70 million for its opening weekend but now is on pace to demolish that number entirely.
The film made $12.7 million during the Thursday night “preview showings” and on Friday it made $47.5 million alone – more than half of its weekend projection. That’s a new record for an R-rated film and for February.
The film has received a very positive reaction from fans and critics alike and considering that the film was made for about $60 million – there should definitely be no doubts about a sequel.
