As with any film that develops a cult following, there will always be talk of a sequel (Dredd, anyone?). That is no different with The Big Lebowski. While some of the actors that were featured in the movie have hinted at a sequel in the past, The Coen Brothers were asked about a sequel by Variety and here’s what they had to say:
“Tara Reid likes to announce that just like [George] Clooney likes to announce Hail, Caesar!,” Joel Coen said in this week’s Variety cover story, referencing how Clooney pushed them to write their latest script by telling the press that it was his next project. “In this case, I don’t think we’ll oblige.”
What about a potential spin-off?
“No,” Ethan said.
Sorry for fans of The Dude. It looks like it’s just not going to happen. But then again – did anyone actually want this?
