This year marks an exciting moment for horror fans, as slasher icon Michael Myers will be returning for another cinematic killing spree fueled by what is being called the 2018 Halloween film “on speed.” That’s right, Halloween Kills will be premiering in theaters this October. And following what was a massively positive test screening, fans are dying to see the first teaser trailer for the upcoming horror sequel. Although we still likely have quite awhile before that happens, Michael Myers actor James Jude Courtney did tease some major expectations for Halloween Kills – explaining that it increases the momentum of everything started by the past installment.
James Jude Courtney gave away the expectations fans should have while speaking on Pop Culture With Pat. It was here that he emphasized the intensity of Halloween Kills, and following the positive test screening it’s likely that the movie really will be as crazy as fans are hoping for. Here’s what James Jude Courtney said:
“We have to make the natural progression from 1978 to 2018 to Halloween Kills – the ante has be upped,” Courtney told the site. “The ticking bomb has to be more intense. Otherwise we’re just doing what we’ve done before.”
He continued, “We pumped up the volume on this one.”
“We’ve progressed late into the night, and now that everybody realizes what the stakes are…it’s reaching a head. It’s [the 2018 film] on speed.”
The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Nancy Stephens, Charles Cyphers, Anthony Michael Hall, Kyle Richards, Jibrail Nantambu, and Robert Longstreet. James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle both return as Michael Myers.
David Gordon Green returns as director following his successful work on the 2018 Halloween sequel. Let’s hope that he’s done as great of a job as the cast, crew, and those lucky fans at the test screening for Halloween Kills have all stated he has – especially if it really is like “the 2018 film on speed.”
Halloween Kills will be bringing Michael Myers back to theaters on October 16, 2020.
