It seems that fans of both Slipknot and horror movies have a new reason to celebrate – Slipknot’s frontman Corey Taylor has revealed that he’s completed his first horror film screenplay.
“I wrote a script for a horror movie that I’m really stoked about,” he told Kerrang! “And I just broke the skin on book five, so I’m working on that as well. I’ve got a lot of things going on, but I’m also making sure there’s plenty of time for my family, my marriage and home. God knows, you never know how much time you’re gonna get there.”
He also gave an update to Rolling Stone explaining that he’s eagerly searching for producers to make his new script a reality.
As Corey Taylor told Rolling Stone: “I’m actually working on a movie right now. I finished a script and I’m aggressively looking for investors and producers. I’ve got all this stuff that I still want to get out of my system.”
While there isn’t too much revealed about whatever Corey Taylor’s horror film script could be, it’d no doubt be a welcomed addition to the band’s legacy of work. Especially when you consider their dedication to horror and all things spooky. And who could forget Tom Savini recently created Corey Taylor’s newest mask? Perhaps there could be a possibility that Tom Savini could be a part of the project.
But speculation aside, it’ll be exciting to see where Corey Taylor’s horror film script will go from here. Hopefully he manages to find the producers he’s looking for and sooner rather than later.
