Although the movie wasn’t as successful as some similar blockbusters, Alita: Battle Angel has still gathered a fair amount of fans from across the globe. And as these types of fanbases tend to do, they’ve been rallying for Disney – who now owns 20th Century Fox, the studio that originally produced and released Alita: Battle Angel – to produce a sequel. As such, their campaign has now become something of an internet sensation as #AlitaSequel is currently trending on Twitter.
The increased hype comes not long after Alita: Battle Angel producer Jon Landau told fans to keep voicing their desire for a sequel if they hope for one to get made. In order for Disney to be convinced enough to even consider doing a sequel, they have to know there is demand for such a thing. But judging by the growing amount of Alita-related tweets, that may just be a real possibility.
Here are some of the tweets that fans have been sharing to help promote their campaign in raising awareness for Alita: Battle Angel and attempting to convince Disney in producing a sequel:
“Today we are raising awareness for the Alita Battle Angel movie and asking Disney, Disney Studios, 20th Century Fox to green light an #AlitaSequel to continue her amazing story. Everyone have a great day!!”

“I WANT MY ALITA SEQUEL! The film was fantastic but the story is not complete! Let’s make this happen! Retweet this, grab the image, spread it far and wide and use #AlitaSequel to make your point! WE WANT MORE ALITA!”

“Saw that #AlitaSequel was trending and got really excited that there may have been some official news. Unfortunately not the case. I would love more ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL movies though. Please make more.”

Obviously there’s a lot more to take into consideration when it comes to producing a sequel to such an expensive film that may not have made as much as estimated. But if the fan demand is there, who knows what’s possible? After all, the above tweets are only a fraction of what’s exploding over on Twitter at the moment.
