One of the most exciting aspects about David Gordon Green’s upcoming film Halloween Kills is how the movie will revisit certain characters from the original 1978 Halloween. One specific character will be Lonnie Elam, this time played by actor Robert Longstreet. Many fans will remember Lonnie for being one of the kids surrounding the Myers house in the original film that Dr. Loomis manages to scare away.
Now it appears that in a new interview with Bloody Flicks, actor Robert Longstreet has opened up about his role. And while discussing his part in the film, he mentioned the nastiness involved with Halloween Kills. Here’s what he had to say:
“Lonnie is a complicated, troubled guy who is haunted by his past,” Longstreet explained. “Particularly chickening out on going into Michael Myers’ house when he was a kid. I think this broke something in him that fucks with his manhood. The Elam family is very unorthodox. They love drugs and alcohol more than most. David said a funny thing to me about that. He said ‘Lonnie knows his wines.’ Ha!!! I don’t think I’m a very appropriate father but I love my son.”
The actor added:
“I don’t think I can say anything about Halloween Kills except it might be the nastiest of all of them. It has some terrifying scenes in it.”
It’s going to be interesting seeing how the filmmakers decide to bring Lonnie Elam back into the Halloween fold, and with the way Longstreet has teased the nastiness of the new film, it’s sure to be a welcomed entry for slasher fans.
Halloween Kills will be hitting theaters on October 16, 2020.
