‘Black Widow’ Trailer Theory May Reveal Character That Died Before The Snap

    By Jacob DresslerDecember 5, 2019
    Black Widow Movie

Marvel has another much anticipated, inevitable hit on their hands with the upcoming Black Widow film. The movie will be the first solo outing for actress Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, aka the titular Black Widow. And although many fans are happy to get another appearance of the character following her death in Avengers: Endgame, it looks like the new trailer may have potentially hinted at another character’s demise as well. You can see the Black Widow trailer theory for yourself down below.

The new movie is set to introduce a variety of new characters that each had an impact on Natasha Romanoff’s past and the time period after Captain America: Civil War. One of these characters is Yelena Belova, played by actress Florence Pugh. The character is another Black Widow who endured similar training to Natasha, and it appears that fans may have figured out her fate in the new movie – and it doesn’t look like she’ll make it out alive if their theories are correct.

According to the Black Widow theory that fans are discussing on the internet, if you pay attention to Yelena’s outfit during the scene in which four of the characters are discussing their eventual battle with Taskmaster – her jacket looks eerily familiar to the one Natasha wears in Avengers: Infinity War.

The theory suggests that Natasha’s attire from that film, including the decision to change her hair color to blonde, indicate that she’s paying tribute to Yelena from this film. Essentially, Yelena might die in this Black Widow movie, and her death is what motivates Natasha to not only honor Yelena by imitating her style but also with her sacrifice on Vormir.

While this is just a theory, and should be taken with a grain of salt, it does make a decent amount of sense. After all, this would give a decent bit of character development to Natasha that would help give her character more meaning throughout her appearances in the other films and explain what exactly is going on in her head.

What do you think of the Black Widow theory? Is it plausible? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below!
