Lionsgate has unleashed the new trailer for their upcoming horror film Antebellum. The film comes from the producers behind Get Out as well as the movie Us, which should promise at the very least a unique horror experience. You can view the trailer and posters for Antebellum down below.
The footage seems to indicate that the film will take advantage of a variety of different time periods, which should prove for an interesting lore. After all, the tagline “If it chooses you, nothing can save you.” seems to imply that a rather sinister force will be involved, and that certainly sounds like a strong premise for a new horror film with a massive lore.
In the new horror movie Antebellum…
“Successful author Veronica Henley (Janelle Monáe) finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it’s too late.”
The cast for the film also includes Marque Richardson II, Eric Lange , Jack Huston, Kiersey Clemons, Tongayi Chirisa, Gabourey Sidibe, Rob Aramayo, Lily Cowles, and Jena Malone.
The movie was directed by duo Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz, from a script written by the two as well. Zev Forman, Raymond Mansfield, Sean McKittrick, and Lezlie Wills are attached as producers.
Hopefully we learn more about the film as the release date approaches, because based on the trailer, posters, and individuals behind it – this could be both an exciting new horror film and marketing campaign to look forward to. After all, the film has been rather quiet on the production front up until now – so hopefully they’re hiding something truly good for horror fans to find when the movie releases.
Antebellum will be hitting theaters on April 24, 2020.
