Fans have been eager to get a glimpse of Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular character in the upcoming Doctor Strange. Set photos of the character in his civilian get up being the closest we have come, until now.
New images from Entertainment Weekly have been revealed and it gives us our first official look at the actor in his sorcerers attire, and fans will be happy to know, it looks like it was ripped straight off the page with his blue shirt and red cape.
The magazine also had a quote from Cumberbatch in regards to what’s it’s like to play a character who casts spells.
“I’m still in the infancy of learning all that. It was like, okay, I’ve got to keep throwing these poses, these spells, these rune-casting things, everything he does physically. I’m thinking, there’s going to be a huge amount of speculation and intrigue over the positioning of that finger as opposed to it being there, or there. And I’m still working on that. We haven’t played any of those scenes yet. I felt really self-conscious. But, then, by the end, it was great. It’s like anything, you just have to experiment.”

It certainly sounds like they are taking the character seriously, which coupled with the costume being true to the source material means we should be in for something special when the film is released November 4th, 2016.
