It appears that Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World actor Chris Pratt is being criticized over social media after he mocked his wife’s cooking. The criticism started after Pratt shared an image on his social media account showing a plate of food which was well over burned.
It appears the food which Chris Pratt shared was intended to be a bagel bite. He accompanied the image with the following comment:
“Proud of my darling for trying to cook tonight,” the actor began to write in his caption. “Did it go well? No. No it did not. To quote Rocky Balboa: ‘It’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s how many times you get up… and keep moving forward.’
“As you can tell from the lump of coal in the centre of the plate, this bagel bite never stood a chance. I honestly simply cannot imagine what went wrong here. Pretty simple. Microwave. Two minutes. Maybe she thought it said two hours.
“But I want to commend her for her effort. This is a big step babe. Proud of you.”
It’s obvious that Pratt was only joking towards his wife, but his many followers insisted it was a sign of misogyny. Here’s a few of their responses:
“Ladies, this is the kind of posts that happen when you marry a misogynist,” one person wrote. “Chris Pratt may hide it pretty well, but the misogyny rings loud and clear through the sarcasm…”
Another person asked if it “normally goes well for you when you publicly shame your wife?”
One person even criticized why Chris Pratt didn’t just make the bagels himself.
“Make your own damn bagel bites, @prattprattpratt. You’re 40,” someone had posted on Twitter.
Nevertheless, Chris Pratt’s wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, whose opinion most matters, understood her husband’s humor perfectly fine. She responded with an appropriate comeback:
“Looks like my plan to just have you do the cooking is working out very well.”
How do you feel about Chris Pratt’s comments towards his wife? Was it just his sense of humor, or is there a layer of misogyny at play? Let us know in the comments section down below!
