Sony Reportedly Screening CIVIL WAR To Approve Spider-Man’s Appearance

    By James HaddenDecember 10, 2015

When it was announced that Spider-Man was joining the MCU, many fans were skeptical about much control Sony will have with the character. Well now we might have some idea.

HeroicHollywood is reporting that the upcoming film Captain America: Civil War will be having a screening for the executives at Sony sometime in the near future – if not already. The reasoning behind this? It’s in order for Sony to have the final say on the character.

The deal that was put in place allows Marvel to use the character in their films, but any solo outing is developed by Sony – so it makes sense that they would like to have some influence in his first appearance.

It’s not known what will happen if Sony doesn’t ‘Sign Off’ – but given the movie has finished filming, it would likely need to be done in re-shoots.
